Job Title: Telecommunication Engineer ________________________________________ Reports To: Telecommunications Manager / Engineering Manager ________________________________________ Job Details • Number of Vacancies: 2 Positions • Salary Range: OMR 500 – 620 per month • Work Location: All governorates of Oman except Dhofar (Preference will be given to applicants from the local governorate) ________________________________________ Job Purpose The Telecommunication Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing telecommunications systems and networks to ensure reliable, efficient, and secure communication services across the organization. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Design, implement, and maintain telecommunications infrastructure, including voice, data, and wireless communication systems. • Monitor network performance and ensure the availability and reliability of telecommunication services. • Troubleshoot and resolve telecommunications and network-related issues. • Support the installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of telecommunication equipment and systems. • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities for communication networks and equipment. • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to support telecommunications projects and operations. • Ensure compliance with company standards, telecommunications regulations, and industry best practices. • Prepare technical reports, network documentation, drawings, and operational procedures. • Evaluate and recommend upgrades and improvements to telecommunications systems. • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and end users. ________________________________________ Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field. ________________________________________ Experience • Practical Experience: 0 (No prior work experience required) • Internship or academic projects in telecommunications are an advantage. ________________________________________ Technical Skills • Knowledge of telecommunications networks, transmission systems, and communication protocols. • Basic understanding of fiber optic networks, wireless communication systems, and IP-based technologies. • Familiarity with routing, switching, VoIP, and network security principles. • Basic knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, network diagrams, and specifications. • Understanding of telecommunications standards and regulations. ________________________________________ Soft Skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Good communication and teamwork abilities. • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills. • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks. • Good organizational and documentation skills. • Attention to detail and commitment to quality. ________________________________________ Working Conditions • Office and field-based work environments. • May require site visits, network maintenance activities, and support during outages or emergency situations.
