EMPLOYEE JOB DESCRIPTION JOB PURPOSE: To manage and design engineering works for Asyad Drydock Company’s (ADC) ship repairs, conversion and New-building projects and to track the implementation of these designs throughout the execution stages in order to ensure the achievement of project requirements, in line with applicable engineering and design principles, ADC and industry standards. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Description Framework and Manage Design Department Department to be structured to proficient in engineering solutions for shipbuilding, repair, conversion and offshore design deliverables and general engineering requirement in Production.Ensure a smooth and efficient operation of Engineering Process that facilitates production Manage an engineering team of engineers / lead engineers, team leaders for the shipbuilding, repair, conversion & offshore disciplines and a support staff, for broadly handling four phases: Conceptual design, basic engineering, detailed engineering and production engineering supportOrganise and supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all design works are carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating policies and procedures.Develop and implement design strategies, outlining the design team / subcontractor approach Review, Set and Manage the Department KPI’sDevelop resource plans for technical/design staff and identify manning / resource needs in order to ensure that the adequate levels of manpower / resources are available to meet design activities. Ensure that department resources are effectively utilised on the different activities (based on priority projects, skill/experience of resources etc.). Engineering Solutions and Standards Manage and design engineering works and production drawings in order to ensure the creation of homogeneous designs that are aligned with project requirements and ADC standards. Proposals to be prepared for the new buildings and offshore projectsStructure and Implement yard design standards as per the project requirements. Provide a skilled contribution to the design works. Analyse to simplify the solutions for complex engineering requirements in the most cost and time effective manner.Implementation of (standard) work procedure for all disciplines, includes review and continuous improvements..Collaborate with all production divisions/departments to identify the capabilities to ensure the efficient design outputs can be managed.Prepare, review and approve, as applicable drawings and documentations prior to issuing for execution (including any sub-contracted design works and drawings).Review and technical support to the Engineering Specifications, RFQ (Request for Quotation) for the project and yard facilities.Review the Design master Schedule, targets and resource allocation which is prepared by Team Leaders Review the project specifications and allot jobs for team leader/lead engineers/engineersDevelop, update and maintain design and engineering-related standards and remain abreast of industry updates (Class, marine regulations etc.) in order to ensure that ADC’s standards are in line with the latest regulations and industry standards. Technical Support Provide technical support for bid and proposal activities and liaise with potential customers, external stakeholders, and ADC departments in order to support in business development and any other relevant activities.Provide technical support to production teams on all design-related matters Provide Engineering support in the fullest capacity for any issues pertaining to ship-repair or yard development activities Design Advice Department Mentoring and guiding team members and motivating them to achieve the goals.Provide applicable technical advice to all subordinatesProvide guidance on work progress, summary report/project status to internal team leaders/lead engineers to ensure completion of the project on time and as per client requirements.Monitor and ensure smooth progress of design process (ADC Department / Subcontractor) for the project. Clients & Statutory Interaction Discuss and finalize the engineering project/work specification to Management, Clients and Subcontractors.Identify and discuss the classification society requirements and prepare the contract requirements, prior to start or during the course of engineering woks in order to eliminate project delays.Plan and organize relevant system design and design changes in co-operation with statutory authorities. Documentation Ensure the maintenance of accurate design data, documentation, drawings, handbooks and records in order to ensure availability for any future reference and meet stakeholder (project managers, customers etc.) needs, in line with applicable standards and procedures.Ensure document compliance with ADC quality management system Manage Budget Manage and control all CAPEX, OPEX & Subcontractor budget requirements Ensure optimum use of resources, software licenses and manpowerPrepare & manage short- and long-term activity plan for all disciplines in-line with the project schedule and budgets Subordinate Training Support and coach the direct subordinate personnel, monitor the performance, develop and implement corrective actions if needed.Introduce buddy systems to department engineers to learn and understand the impact of other design disciplines.Identify training needs for the department and ensure implementation of the same Continuous Improvement Motivate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading practices, improvement of processes and productive outputs.Execute all jobs as assigned by the Management and Superiors that lead to development of the yard.Ensure a good working environment and team spirit.Conversant with latest developments and suggest suitable changes in the system / design. Minimum Experience: Minimum 20 years of relevant engineering experience in Shipbuilding & Marine design industry in the field of concept, basic and detail design, including at least 10 years in positions of managerial or supervisory responsibilities. Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills: Good knowledge of international design codes, Classification/Statutory Rules and Regulations and latest developments.Complete understanding of engineering process including good knowledge of general drawing, steel structure, outfitting including piping & electrical drawing Knowledge of engineering calculations and relevant software tools like AutoCAD, AVIVA الإنتاج. إدارة فريق هندسي يضم مهندسين ومهندسين أول وقادة فرق لمختلف تخصصات بناء وإصلاح وتحويل السفن والمنشآت البحرية، إلى جانب فريق الدعم، لتغطية مراحل التصميم الأربع: التصميم المفاهيمي، والهندسة الأساسية، والهندسة التفصيلية، ودعم هندسة الإنتاج. تنظيم والإشراف على أعمال المرؤوسين لضمان تنفيذ أعمال التصميم بكفاءة ووفق السياسات والإجراءات المعتمدة. تطوير وتنفيذ استراتيجيات التصميم وتحديد منهجية عمل فريق التصميم أو المتعاقدين من الباطن. مراجعة وتحديد وإدارة مؤشرات أداء القسم. إعداد خطط الموارد للكوادر الفنية والتصميمية وتحديد احتياجات القوى العاملة لضمان توفر الموارد اللازمة لتنفيذ أعمال التصميم. ضمان الاستخدام الأمثل لموارد القسم وفق أولويات المشاريع وخبرات الكوادر. ثانياً: الحلول الهندسية والمعايير إدارة وتصميم الأعمال الهندسية والرسومات الإنتاجية بما يضمن إعداد تصاميم متكاملة ومتوافقة مع متطلبات المشاريع ومعايير الشركة. إعداد العروض الخاصة بمشاريع البناء الجديد والمنشآت البحرية. وضع وتطبيق معايير التصميم الخاصة بالحوض وفق متطلبات المشاريع. المساهمة الفنية المباشرة في أعمال التصميم. تحليل وتبسيط الحلول الهندسية المعقدة بأكثر الطرق كفاءة من حيث التكلفة والوقت. تطبيق إجراءات العمل القياسية لجميع التخصصات مع مراجعتها وتحسينها بشكل مستمر. التعاون مع أقسام الإنتاج المختلفة لتحديد الإمكانيات وضمان كفاءة مخرجات التصميم. إعداد ومراجعة واعتماد الرسومات والوثائق قبل إصدارها للتنفيذ، بما في ذلك أعمال التصميم المنفذة من جهات خارجية. مراجعة وتقديم الدعم الفني لمواصفات المشاريع وطلبات تقديم العروض الخاصة بالمشاريع ومرافق الحوض. مراجعة الجدول العام للتصميم والأهداف وتوزيع الموارد المعد من قبل قادة الفرق. مراجعة مواصفات المشاريع وتوزيع المهام على قادة الفرق والمهندسين. تطوير وتحديث المعايير الهندسية والتصميمية ومتابعة المستجدات في القطاع لضمان توافق معايير الشركة مع أحدث اللوائح والمعايير. ثالثاً: الدعم الفني تقديم الدعم الفني لأنشطة العروض والمناقصات والتواصل مع العملاء المحتملين والجهات ذات العلاقة وأقسام الشركة لدعم تطوير الأعمال. تقديم الدعم الفني لفرق الإنتاج في جميع المسائل المتعلقة بالتصميم. تقديم الدعم الهندسي الكامل لأي مسائل تتعلق بإصلاح السفن أو تطوير الحوض. رابعاً: الإرشاد الفني وإدارة الفريق توجيه وتدريب أعضاء الفريق وتحفيزهم لتحقيق الأهداف. تقديم الاستشارات الفنية اللازمة للمرؤوسين. متابعة تقدم العمل وإعداد تقارير الحالة لضمان إنجاز المشاريع في الوقت المحدد ووفق متطلبات العملاء. مراقبة سير عملية التصميم وضمان انسيابها سواء داخل القسم أو لدى الجهات المتعاقدة. خامساً: التعامل مع العملاء والجهات التنظيمية مناقشة واعتماد مواصفات المشاريع الهندسية مع الإدارة والعملاء والمتعاقدين. تحديد ومناقشة متطلبات جهات التصنيف وإعداد متطلبات العقود قبل وأثناء تنفيذ الأعمال لتفادي أي تأخير. التخطيط وتنظيم تصميم الأنظمة والتعديلات بالتعاون مع الجهات الرسمية المختصة. سادساً: التوثيق ضمان حفظ بيانات التصميم والوثائق والرسومات والسجلات بشكل دقيق لإتاحتها عند الحاجة، بما يلبي متطلبات أصحاب المصلحة ووفق المعايير المعتمدة. ضمان توافق الوثائق مع نظام إدارة الجودة في الشركة. سابعاً: إدارة الميزانية إدارة وضبط ميزانيات النفقات الرأسمالية والتشغيلية وعقود الجهات الخارجية. ضمان الاستخدام الأمثل للموارد والتراخيص البرمجية والقوى العاملة. إعداد وإدارة خطط العمل قصيرة وطويلة المدى بما يتوافق مع جداول المشاريع والميزانيات. ثامناً: تدريب المرؤوسين تدريب وتطوير المرؤوسين المباشرين ومتابعة أدائهم واتخاذ الإجراءات التصحيحية عند الحاجة. تطبيق نظام التوجيه المتبادل بين المهندسين لتعزيز فهم تأثير التخصصات المختلفة. تحديد الاحتياجات التدريبية للقسم وضمان تنفيذها. تاسعاً: التحسين المستمر تحفيز المرؤوسين والمساهمة في تحديد فرص تحسين الأنظمة والإجراءات والممارسات بما يتماشى مع أفضل الممارسات العالمية، وتحسين كفاءة العمليات وزيادة الإنتاجية. تنفيذ المهام الموكلة من الإدارة بما يسهم في تطوير الحوض. تعزيز بيئة عمل إيجابية وروح الفريق. متابعة أحدث التطورات في المجال واقتراح التحسينات المناسبة. عاشراً: السياسات والأنظمة والإجراءات تطبيق سياسات وإجراءات الشركة المعتمدة وتوجيه المرؤوسين ومتابعة التزامهم بها لضمان تنفيذ العمل بطريقة منظمة ومنضبطة. العمارة البحرية أو ما يعادلها من جامعة معترف بها. تُعد درجة الماجستير ميزة إضافية. الحد الأدنى من الخبرة: خبرة لا تقل عن 20 عاماً في المجال الهندسي المرتبط بصناعة بناء السفن والتصميم البحري، تشمل التصميم المفاهيمي والهندسة الأساسية والتصميم التفصيلي. خبرة لا تقل عن 10 سنوات في مناصب إدارية أو إشرافية. المعارف والمهارات الخاصة بالوظيفة: معرفة جيدة بالمعايير الدولية للتصميم ولوائح وأنظمة التصنيف
