Job Purpose A Business Relationship Officer in an insurance company serves as the organization's ambassador, fostering strong relationships with government entities, regulators, industry stakeholders, and key market participants. The role focuses on building trust, enhancing the company's reputation, facilitating effective communication, and proactively resolving issues to support business objectives. The Business Relationship Officer acts as the Company's official liaison and communication focal point for external stakeholders, ensuring that all communications with government entities, regulators, industry bodies, and strategic partners are effectively coordinated, professionally managed, and aligned with the Company's objectives, regulatory obligations, and corporate standards. Duties & Responsibilities Government & Regulatory Relations Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with government authorities, regulatory agencies, and relevant public sector organizations. Serve as the primary liaison between the Company and regulatory bodies on operational and business related matters. Facilitate timely communication and follow up on regulatory requirements, approvals, submissions, and correspondence. Monitor regulatory developments and keep management informed of potential implications and opportunities. Coordinate meetings, discussions and engagement initiatives with government and regulatory stakeholders. Support compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry requirements through effective stakeholder engagement. Stakeholder & Market Representation Represent the Company professionally at industry events, conferences, meetings, seminars, and networking forums. Promote and enhance the Company's reputation, credibility, and brand image within the insurance market. Establish and maintain productive relationships with key business partners, brokers, banks, corporate clients, and industry associations. Act as a trusted point of contact for external stakeholders, ensuring positive and constructive engagement. Identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships and create mutually beneficial collaborations. Relationship Management & Communication Build and sustain strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders through regular engagement and communication. Ensure effective coordination between business units and external parties to facilitate smooth operations. Maintain open communication channels to address stakeholder inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner. Foster a culture of collaboration and partnership that supports long-term business relationships. Prepare professional correspondence, reports, presentations, and stakeholder communication materials. Serve as the designated focal point for all official communications between the Company and external stakeholders, including government authorities, regulators, industry associations, strategic partners, and other key institutions. Review, coordinate, and facilitate all outgoing corporate communications intended for external stakeholders to ensure consistency, professionalism, accuracy, and alignment with Company objectives and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with relevant departments and management to obtain necessary inputs, approvals, and responses before the issuance of official external communications. Maintain records of key communications, correspondence, and stakeholder interactions to ensure proper follow-up, accountability, and institutional knowledge. Ensure that all external communications reflect the Company's values, strategic priorities, and professional image while supporting strong stakeholder relationships. Issue Resolution & Stakeholder Support Proactively identify and manage stakeholder concerns and relationship-related matters. Coordinate with relevant internal departments to facilitate prompt and effective resolution of issues. Follow up on outstanding matters to ensure satisfactory closure and strengthen stakeholder confidence. Act as a facilitator and problem-solver to support business continuity and positive stakeholder experiences. Escalate critical matters to management when necessary, along with appropriate recommendations. Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate meetings within company and government authorities, regulatory bodies, industry associations, business partners, and other key stakeholders on behalf of the Company. Prepare meeting agendas, briefing notes, and supporting documentation to ensure effective and productive discussions. Attend meetings as the Company's representative and record accurate minutes of meetings (MoM), capturing key discussions, decisions, commitments, and action items. Distribute meeting minutes to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner and maintain an organized repository of records and correspondence. Monitor, track, and follow up on action items arising from meetings to ensure timely completion and effective closure. Coordinate with internal departments and external parties to obtain updates on assigned actions and ensure delivery of agreed outcomes. Provide regular status updates to management on outstanding actions, stakeholder commitments, and key developments. Escalate critical issues, delays, or unresolved matters to the appropriate level of management while recommending practical solutions. Ensure that decisions and commitments made during stakeholder engagements are effectively translated into actionable plans and successfully implemented. Promote accountability and effective communication among stakeholders to achieve successful closure of initiatives, projects, and agreed actions. Coordinate office administration activities, including document control, record retention, and procurement of supplies. Support audit and compliance requirements by maintaining proper documentation and adhering to internal controls. Assist in organizing meetings, events, and business development activities, including logistics and documentation. Contribute to continuous improvement of administrative processes to enhance efficiency and service quality. Strategic Support Support management in developing stakeholder engagement and relationship management strategies. Maintain an updated database of key contacts within government entities, regulators, and industry organizations. Provide market intelligence and stakeholder insights that contribute to informed business decisions. Assist in planning and executing corporate engagement initiatives, awareness programs, and strategic partnerships. Contribute to projects and initiatives that enhance the Company's market presence and stakeholder satisfaction. Any other tasks as assigned Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Insurance, Law, Marketing, or a related discipline. Professional certifications in stakeholder management, public relations, or insurance are an advantage. 2–4 years of experience in administration, office coordination, or customer service, preferably within insurance or financial services. Proficiency in MS Office applications and administrative / record-management systems. Knowledge of insurance products and processes is an advantage.
