Job Contents: This position is responsible for the technical design and execution of qualification programs and advanced power system simulations. The role focuses on ensuring that control engineers are qualified through rigorous simulation-based assessments using the Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS). The Principal Engineer serves as the technical expert in modeling complex grid scenarios, including renewable penetration and market dynamics, to validate operational readiness. This function bridges the gap between theoretical system studies and real-time operational certification, ensuring the LDC team is equipped to handle contingencies and maintain grid stability.Description:Partner with Section Heads and Managers to conduct baseline competency assessments and design tailored training programs.Leads the technical development of simulation scenarios within the Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) to analyze various operational contingencies and conduct in-depth studies.Designs and executes the technical framework for the authorization and certification of LDC control engineers.Analyzes the penetration and effects of renewable generation on system operation to develop simulation-based mitigation strategies.Provides expert analysis and simulation-based reconstruction of sudden grid events to support root cause analysis.Monitors application system performance and tuning parameters to ensure simulation environments accurately reflect network dynamics.Develops technical training modules for LDC staff, focusing on high-standard technical outputs and mentoring.Identifies system operation bottlenecks during simulated contingencies and provides actionable recommendations for remedial actions.Assists in analyzing the technical impacts of the Spot Market on system operations during simulation cycles.Contributes to the security measures and crash recovery processes for the DTS and other training applications.
