<p><strong>Job Title: </strong>Nurse</p> <p><strong>Department: </strong>SU Clinic- Student Services Department </p> <p><strong>Reporting to: </strong>Manager of Student Services Department</p> <p><strong>Type of Employment:</strong> Full-Time </p> <p><strong>Purpose of Position:</strong></p> <p>Responsible for providing professional nursing services and patient care in outpatient settings inside Sohar University Clinic and student hostels. The nurse has to follow established nursing procedures, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, intervention and evaluation. Staff member has to ensure adherence to the policies and nursing procedures, standards and practices.</p> <p><strong>Role and Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p>-Implement provided Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) controls and follow instructions. </p> <p>-Look after and keep the provided HSE equipment and facilities healthy and report any damage of equipment and facilities identified to the HSE team. </p> <p>-Report any HSE incidents and missed behavioural observations.</p> <p>- Provide direct, professional nursing care in outpatient settings and student hostels.</p> <p>-Prepare equipment and assist the medical doctor during examination and treatments</p> <p>-Evaluate new and existing patients to determine priority and suitability of treatment and or need for modifications</p> <p>-Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings, perform intravenous, intramuscular, IV fluids and monitor vital signs</p> <p>-Maintain confidentiality of patient records.</p> <p>-Perform specialized nursing procedures (as required)</p> <p>-Oversee and guide the work of the clinic support staff (medical helpers)</p> <p>-Perform miscellaneous jobs related to nursing duties, such as shifting and escorting emergency cases to health facilities (as required)</p> <p>-Teach students some medical-related to general health practices</p> <p>- Monitor the health equipment and instruments in the clinic and female hostels.</p> <p>-The employee is required to strictly adhere and comply with Sohar University policies, bylaws, and regulations that are related to their work.</p> <p>-Any other assigned tasks that fall within the competence of the department/faculty. </p> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <p>-Bachelor in Nursing with two years’ experience/ or Diploma in Nursing with three years’ experience. </p> <p>- D.G of Private Health Establishments License to Practice</p> <p>-Relevant acute care experience.</p> <p>-Passed parametric exam of the Ministry of Health.</p> <p><strong>Knowledge & Skills: </strong></p> <p><strong>General: </strong></p> <p>-Fully conversant with the Omani labour law.</p> <p>-Moderated level in writing and speaking of Arabic and English languages (following the department/faculty).</p> <p>-Ability to use computers and relevant computer applications for the job.</p> <p>-Clear and effective communicator.</p> <p>-Resourceful (know where to find information for problem-solving).</p> <p>-Team player, leads and supports changes to improve business performance.</p> <p>-Attention to details</p> <p>-Time management.</p> <p><strong>Specifics:</strong> </p> <p>-Aware of the Health and Safety requirements of staff at work and environmental conservation programs.</p> <p>-Practical interpersonal </p> <p>-Decision making related to nursing procedures.</p> <p><strong>Relevant Experience:</strong></p> <p> -Diploma with three years’ experience </p> <p>- Bachelor with two years’ experience</p> <p>- Relevant acute care experience</p> <p></p> <p><strong><ins>Note: </ins></strong></p> <p><strong>*All qualifications awarded from outside Oman should be equivalent by Ministry of Education. </strong></p> <p></p> <p></p>
