The role is accountable for defining secure, scalable, and resilient architectural standards for enterprise IT networks, cloud platforms, and digital services — ensuring alignment with Omantel's digital transformation strategy and regulatory requirements. The role provides authoritative architectural guidance across projects and programmes, drives the network and security technology roadmap, and ensures that all solutions are designed with a security-first approach in line with industry frameworks and best practices.Position Information Unit: Digital & TechnologyDivision: Architecture, Portfolio and GovernanceLocation: HQ Grade: P4Minimum role requirements: Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is an advantage. Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a dedicated network or security architecture role.Key Accountabilities Design and maintain enterprise network architecture covering LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, data centre, and hybrid/multi-cloud connectivity.Produce high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD) for all network infrastructure within the Digital & Technology domain.Define capacity planning, performance, and availability standards to support current and future digital services.Govern campus, branch, and remote-access network designs ensuring resilience and scalability.Define and maintain the enterprise cybersecurity architecture framework based on Zero Trust and SASE principles.Architect network security controls including NGFW, IDS/IPS, WAF, DDoS protection, and network segmentation.Lead threat modelling, risk-based design reviews, and vulnerability assessments for new and existing platforms.Define IAM, PAM, PKI, and data protection standards across enterprise and cloud systems.Architect security controls for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments across multi-cloud and hybrid deployments.Define Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) standards and oversee implementation across cloud platforms.Provide security architecture guidance for APIs, microservices, and containerised workloads.Embed security into DevOps pipelines (DevSecOps) and review SaaS applications prior to business unit onboarding.the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and align designs with IT operations and business objectives.Produce architecture artefacts, reports, and presentations for technical teams and executive stakeholders.Key AccountabilitiesDevelop and enforce enterprise network and security architecture standards, policies, and design patterns.Ensure alignment with ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS Controls, Oman TRA regulations, and NCSC Oman directives.Participate in the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and support security audits with architecture evidence and remediation plans.Conduct periodic architecture risk assessments and present risk treatment plans to senior management.Develop and maintain a 3–5 year network and security technology roadmap aligned to Omantel's D&T strategy.Lead vendor evaluations, RFP/RFQ processes, and PoC assessments for network and security technologies.Assess emerging technologies and provide investment and adoption recommendations to senior stakeholders.Provide architecture guidance and design oversight to project and programme teams across Digital & Technology.Coordinate with SOC and CSIRT on architecture improvements arising from security incidents.Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and align designs with IT operations and business objectives.Produce architecture artefacts, reports, and presentations for technical teams and executive stakeholders.Key Competencies Competency NameSr. Proficient Knowledge of Domain and Ecosystem4 - ExpertQuality Management4 - ExpertFault Resolution4 - ExpertIT Incident Management4 - ExpertCreativity & Innovation2 - IntermediateProactivity3 - AdvancedAnalytical Thinking & Problem Solving3 - AdvancedAttention to Detail3 - AdvancedEthics & Compliance2 - Intermediate
