Job PurposeTo maximize and add value to the construction process by proactive involvement in quantity and cost management and reporting. To carry out monthly cost reviews on projects and forecast final forecast values for contract and project costs. Maximize value of monthly applications and measurement and submission of contract variations. Assist Contracts department in timely submission of final accounts to the client and subcontractors.Key Responsibilities· To carry out monthly valuations of work in progress/value of work done (VOWD)· Certification of subcontractor monthly valuations and final accounts· Measure, value, submit contract variations· Ongoing quantity measurement and re-measurement activities and reporting· Strong working knowledge of project schedules and impact of activity duration changes and forecast completion dates· Assist Contracts department to prepare submit and negotiate project final accounts· Ensure that business commercial processes are adhered to at project level· Manage and produce accurate formal reports in accordance with project timetable and deadlines· Monitor all commercial information in relation to project including labour, material and sub-contractor cost forecasting thus ensuring budgets adhered to· Supply all relevant information for review at the specified intervals set· Assist Project Controls Manager / Lead Cost Engineer with a range of other duties as may be required from time to time Skills and Attributes· Technically qualified in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management or similar. Consideration given to relevant experience· Approximately 3-6 years’ quantity surveying experience within an Oil and Gas contracting/service provider organisation· Commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost· Multi-tasking, self-motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work· Have good practical organisation skills, planning of resources and programme scheduling· Be able to provide both summarised and detailed reports, on current activities· IT literate able to use Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel· Demonstrable experience in EPC/EPCM contracts· Able to work well within a team based environment· Communicate regularly with project staff and specialist subcontractors to ensure commercial controls are in place, understood and followed at all times· Good command of written and spoken English· Customer focused with ability to communicate across all levels of seniority from the workface through to Senior Management level.· ‘Can do’ attitudeMoving forward togetherWe want our people to be energized and empowered to drive sustainable impact.
