Operation and Maintenance Area Manager

Role PurposeManage day-to-day Operations &
Maintenance (O&M) activities for a defined region within Cluster 1,
ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient water and wastewater service delivery.Drive operational performance, execution of
maintenance and NRW activities, and effective control of contractors, while
ensuring alignment with Cluster priorities and proactive coordination with NAMA
central functions and other clusters.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations: Manage O&M of plants, networks, pumping and storage; ensure
service continuity, quality compliance, and emergency response readinessPerformance:. Ensure or facilitate delivery of performance plans in the
region  eg. NRW, energy, etc. Incollaboration
with the Technical & Performance directionAsset
Management: Implement preventive, predictive, and
corrective maintenance; provide input to asset condition and renewal needsContractors: Supervise outsourced activities, ensuring performance, quality of
works, and compliance; support optimisation of delivery modelInterfaces: Coordinate with central functions and other regions,
ensuring effective implementation of processes and alignment of activities.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders in the region: NWS, local authoritiesProjects
& Systems: Support project delivery,
commissioning, and integration; oversee SCADA, GIS, and operational systemsLeadership: Manage regional teams, set objectives, and drive performance and
capability developmentGovernance: Ensure QHSE compliance, risk management, and safe field operationsExpected OutcomesReliable and
continuous water & wastewater services at regional levelDelivery of
operational performance and maintenance targetsStrong control
and performance of contractors in the fieldEffective
implementation of NRW and efficiency actionsCompliance with

accountable operational teamsRequirementsEngineering
degree (Mechanical, Civil, or related field)8–12+ years of
experience in water/wastewater operationsExperience
