Job title Principal Reservoir Engineering Grade Stream Upstream – E&P Function Operated Assets – Subsurface - Development Location Oman - HO Budget control *OPEX and/or CAPEX and/or Revenue amount as relevant* Reporting to Team Lead Bisat WRM Direct reports Job purpose Apply reservoir engineering & Simulation to the subsurface development ABB Development, by (1) Conducting workflows pertaining to reserves maturation, well testing, field development planning update reservoir management strategies, (2) Monitor a range of activities, including well surveillance, fluid sampling, well testing and completion operations, (3) Work and support with multi-disciplinary team to apply reservoir engineering practices to reservoir management, well test design and analysis, reservoir simulation, reserves evaluation & estimation, and (4) Directing lab workflows, managing lab data, working PVT data analysis (with internal and external PVT reports), developing EoS models & BOT, developing final report, and presenting post project reviews with BUs. The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives. Main tasks and responsibilities Provide guidance to support the Manager ABB Development in achieving desired performance objectives. ▪ Guide Manager ABB Development & Reservoir Team to aid in maintaining high technical standards Guide on development plans / programs as required by the Manager ABB Development Guide on fluid characterization studies for understanding fluid distribution in the field ▪ Guide on analysis and interpretation of RFT / MDT data as required Participate in integrated field studies for maturing hydrocarbon resources Evaluate well/reservoir performance and recommend production improvement opportunities Guide on RE input to business planning, reserve evaluation and well proposals Work with other disciplines on hydrocarbon maturation to further develop the asset Evaluate well/reservoir performance and recommend production improvement opportunities Provide RE input to business planning, reserve evaluation and well proposals Participate in integrated field studies Work with other disciplines on hydrocarbon maturation to further develop the asset Coach and mentor early career professionals Participate in integrated field studies for maturing hydrocarbon resources Key interactions Internal: Subsurface Development & Exploration / Well Delivery / Facilities / Operations / Supply Chain External: Contractors, Technical Committees Notable Working Conditions. Education requirements Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent Language requirements Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required) - Arabic - Native (desirable) Background and experience Competencies and skills 10+ years’ experience in Reservoir Engineering within Oil & Gas industry Proficiency in industry standard reservoir engineering packages such as Kappa Saphire, OFM, Eclipse Experience with reservoir management Experience with reservoir simulation Good understanding of production operations and completion procedures Experience in tight gas reservoirs is a “plus” Experience in working with multi-disciplinary team role Soft: Leading multidisciplinary integrated teams and contribution to exploration opportunity risking and ranking. Has participated or contributed to technical reviews, audits and preparation of Field Development Plans Self-starter with the ability to multi task while maintaining priorities Technical: Computer literacy including MS Office Project Management skills
