Job Content:Economic dispatch & Spot Market Section Head is responsible to achieve full compliance with OETC obligations of (a) reliable and economic operation in all dispatch related and planning functions through appropriate studies, planning and coordination with other stakeholders of dispatch and (b) Spot Market obligations. The section is responsible for study, planning, implementation and reporting of all activities to comply with OETC obligations in License conditions, Grid Code, Market Rules and good utility practices.Description:The principal responsibilities of Economic Dispatch & Spot Market section head include planning, scheduling, coordination with control to realize economic dispatch in conformity with OETC obligations as per license condition, Grid Code, Transmission Security standard and other SOPs of the department and Spot market rules. Strategy planning – develop an overall framework considering the above objectives.Study & Analysis of system functions, network constraints, load-generation balance, maintenance requirements, economic parameters, market rules and plan accordinglyPlanning – System Load, Dispatch scheduling, Generator Maintenance, Spot Market Day ahead data in accordance with Grid Code and Market RulesEMS Utilization – Economic Dispatch, Resource Scheduling, Load Forecasting, DTSSpot Market software – utilize, update, tune and prepare reports in spot market related applications including SCADA modification, unit commitment, electronic dispatch logger.Reporting – Dispatch data & Reports, Market data & Reports, other reports as requiredTraining of subordinate engineers and other OETC engineers in related functions.Study system behavior, analyze contingencies and prepare appropriate plansEnsure that generation planning, scheduling and dispatch are in full compliance with Grid Code and Spot market rules and also achieve optimum economic dispatch.Communicate with generators and OPWP to ensure sufficient generation is available to meet system load.To issue reports of section activities as required by OETC obligations – dispatch reports, performance reports, annual reports and any other requirements.To ensure smooth transition to increasing renewables in the system.To develop SOPs and policies relevant to these activitiesCoordinate with AMP, Transmission and projects & OPWP in the functions of data collection, planning and performance evaluation. Setting and mentoring KPI targets for the section.Close all audit points related to the section.Development and implementation of SOPs in related areasKnowledge and Understanding of the Asset Management, QHSE Management System and IT Security Standard Requirements according to Integrated Management System (IMS), ISO 55001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 27001 to carry out the assigned duties as per the roles and responsibilities matrix.
