Job Title : Network L2 Engineer Location, Sur-Oman Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Network L2 Engineer to provide second-level support for our IT infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting escalated issues, configuring and maintaining network devices, and ensuring the stability and security of our LAN, WAN, and VPN environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco, Fortinet, or Palo Alto devices and a strong understanding of networking protocols. Key Responsibilities • Provide L2 support for escalated network incidents from L1 teams. • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. • Manage VLANs, WAN links, and SD-WAN deployments. • Implement and monitor network security policies (firewalls, IPsec tunnels, VPNs). • Conduct network performance analysis and optimize bandwidth usage. • Document configurations, incidents, and resolutions; maintain updated network topology diagrams. • Collaborate with L3 engineers on complex projects and escalations. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. • 2–5 years of experience in network support or engineering. • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Security+ preferred. • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP). • Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG). Skills & Competencies • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work under pressure and manage escalations effectively. • Strong communication and documentation skills. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across IT functions
