About the Company Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.Purpose of the Job The Well Engineering Instructor is responsible for capability building that enables top-quartile business results in the Wells portfolio. Ownership of various Wells courses and programmes delivery and management. Drives delivery of the programmes through personal facilitation, internal SMEs and external vendors. Introducing a continual improvement cycle by designing and developing programmes to enhance learning.The Learning Advisor may be involved in any or all of the existing Wells learning programmes as business needs/preference dictate. The immediate focus will be on delivering IWCF for CWI, Advanced Well Control training primarily in-house to PDO, Shell candidates, and other Operators and Contractors within Oman Education & Experience • Bachelor or Master of Engineering/ Science degree in an Engineering or Geosciences discipline.• Prefered Shell Round 2 Certificate holder. • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in the field of workover and well intervention operations, including at least 4 years in a Site Supervisor role. Main Responsibilities Principal Accountabilities (The outputs of the job)• Delivering IWCF for CWI, Advanced Well Control, and other relevant Well Engineering courses blended learning and administration of the simulators for PDO staff, staff from Shell affiliates and Omani nationals in the contractor population and other Oil and Gas Companies in Oman and extending to cover the Middle East. CWI course delivery comprises the following scope of work:-• Actively works together with Wells Learning Manager, CFDH and Skillpool manager on the learning agenda and ensures applicability of classes for various job positions.• Maintain instruction material and course content and adapt to PDO internal and external delivery.• Prepare class schedules for the relevant courses, validates scheduling with Discipline Lead and Skillpool Manager, communication of this training and ensuring the courses are full to capacity.• Monitor classes for enrollments, canceling/additional classes as needed, and ensuring courses are full to capacity.• Track financials of the courses curriculum, and review/approve invoices.• Apply the full spectrum of learning methods (i.e. on the job, blended, coaching/mentoring, classroom and networks.) • Liaises with Shell Learning Advisers and Externals to build and develop integrated learning experiences and to improve the course content.• Key interfaces are:• Internal: Wells Learning Manager, Wells Coaches, Wells Administrators, Wells Activity Leaders. • External: Course Participants, Shell Wells L&D team, staff from Shell affiliates and Omani nationals in the contractor population and other Oil and Gas Companies in Oman and Middle East, IWCF and IADC.• Creating and fostering a coaching and collaborative working culture through the Wells L&D Common Interest Network.• Engaging external world to build new industry standard in Advanced Well Control.• Exhibit and encourage people to exhibit Lean & Agility behaviours, in compliance with PDO’s Joureny of Transformations, in all activities performed within their daily business to realise continuous sustained performance improvement.• Live the PDO Values (Honesty, Integrity, Respect for People), exhibit the PDO behaviours (Engagement, Respect, Collaboration and Performance) and act as role model for colleagues and subordinates.Challenges• To train a large volume of annual internal and extermnal candidates on the relevant courses.• To ensure the timely marking and submission to all the relevant courses.
