<p><strong>Job Title: </strong>Graphic and Multimedia Designer </p> <p><strong>Department:</strong> Communication & Marketing Department </p> <p><strong>Reporting to: </strong>Manager of Communication & Marketing Department </p> <p><strong>Type of Employment:</strong> Full-Time</p> <p><strong>Purpose of Position:</strong> </p> <p>To serve as an active member of the Communication and Marketing team & the University, rresponsible for creating compelling visual content across print, digital, and multimedia platforms. This role involves designing marketing materials, editing videos, and producing motion graphics to enhance the university’s brand and communication efforts.</p> <p><strong>Role and Responsibilities: </strong></p> <p>-Implement provided Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) controls and follow instructions. </p> <p>-Look after and keep the provided HSE equipment and facilities healthy and report any damage of equipment and facilities identified to the HSE team.</p> <p>-Report any HSE incidents and missed behavioural observations.</p> <p>-Create visually engaging designs for a variety of media, including print, digital, social platforms, and multimedia, ensuring alignment with the university’s brand guidelines.</p> <p>-Develop layouts, graphics, and other visual elements for brochures, posters, newsletters, websites, social media, email campaigns, and other marketing materials.</p> <p>-Produce infographics, icons, and other illustrative elements to support content in presentations, reports, and educational materials.</p> <p>-Design multimedia content, including motion graphics, animations, and interactive elements, to enhance the university’s digital and online presence.</p> <p>-Edit and produce videos for promotional, educational, and informational purposes, ensuring high production quality and alignment with the university’s visual identity.</p> <p>-Maintain consistency of the university’s brand across all visual materials, ensuring that all designs adhere to established branding guidelines.</p> <p>-Work with the marketing team to update and refine brand guidelines as needed, ensuring they evolve with the university’s identity and strategic goals.</p> <p>-Collaborate with marketing strategists, content creators, and other team members to understand project requirements and deliver designs that meet communication objectives.</p> <p>-Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas that support the university’s marketing and communication goals.</p> <p>-Communicate effectively with stakeholders across departments to gather feedback and make necessary revisions to designs.</p> <p>-Maintain organized files and documentation for all design projects, ensuring easy access for team members and future reference.</p> <p>-Coordinate with external vendors, such as printers, to oversee the production of printed materials and ensure high-quality output.</p> <p>-Explore and implement new design tools and techniques that can improve the efficiency and quality of design output.</p> <p>-The employee is required to strictly adhere and comply with Sohar University policies, bylaws, and regulations that are related to their work.</p> <p>-Any other assigned tasks that fall within the competence of the department/faculty.</p> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong>: </p> <p>-Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, or a related field.</p> <p><strong>Knowledge & Skills: </strong></p> <p><strong>General: </strong></p> <p>-Fully conversant with the Omani labour law.</p> <p>-Moderated level in writing and speaking of Arabic and English languages (following the department/faculty).</p> <p>-Ability to use computers and relevant computer applications for the job.</p> <p>-Clear and effective communicator.</p> <p>-Resourceful (know where to find information for problem-solving).</p> <p>-Team player, leads and supports changes to improve business performance.</p> <p><strong>Specifics:</strong></p> <p>-Aware of the Health and Safety requirements of staff at work and environmental conservation programs.</p> <p>-Proficiency in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and other relevant tools.</p> <p>-Experience in video editing, motion graphics, and multimedia design.</p> <p>-Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work across different media, including digital and multimedia content.</p> <p>-Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, branding, and video production.</p> <p>-Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.</p> <p>-Familiarity with web design principles and experience with HTML/CSS is a plus.</p> <p><strong>Relevant Experience: </strong></p> <p>-2 years of experience is preferable.</p> <p></p> <p><strong><ins>Note :</ins></strong></p> <p>*All qualifications awarded from outside Oman should be equivalent by Ministry of Education.</p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p>
