Job Title: Executive - Medical Operations Department: Medical Job Purpose To provide operational and technical support for medical insurance underwriting and operations, including preparation of new business and renewal quotations, individual & group medical quotations, referral of applications to reinsurers, policy issuance, and medical card processing. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of quotations, policies, and member records within agreed TAT, while contributing to monitoring of the medical loss ratio and the maintenance of consistent service standard. Duties & Responsibilities Ensure profitable management of the medical insurance portfolio Prepare and release new business and renewal quotations for medical business. Prepare individual medical quotations, ensuring correct application of rates, benefits, loadings, and exclusions Review application forms and supporting medical information for completeness before underwriting decisions are taken Refer applications and cases falling outside underwriting authority to reinsurers and follow up to obtain terms within required timelines Issue medical policies, endorsements, and renewal documentation accurately and within the agreed turnaround time Process medical card requests, additions, deletions, and replacements, and coordinate delivery to clients and members Coordinate with TPAs and service providers on member data uploads, card production, and activation of cover Maintain accurate underwriting, quotation, and issuance records. Monitor pending quotations, applications, and issuance requests and escalate delays or bottlenecks to the line manager Prepare and TAT reports to the manager in line with the agreed reporting frequency Prepare weekly TAT reports for Medical and Operations covering group & individual medical quotes, card processing, and policy issuance Respond to queries from clients, brokers, and internal teams on quotations, cover, cards, and policy documentation Support renewal planning by extracting expiry listings and coordinating timely issue of renewal terms Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, underwriting authorities, and internal controls in all issuance activities Identify recurring service or process gaps affecting turnaround times and propose practical improvements Perform medical activities for Bank Muscat project, ensuring maximum conversion rates against agreed targets Underwrite individual and group medical business in line with approved underwriting guidelines Review applications, medical information, and group claims data to decide terms, pricing, and exclusions Prepare renewal terms based on claims experience and loss ratio, and highlight cases needing review Undertake any other tasks delegated by the Head of Department, in line with the role and business requirements Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Insurance, Operations, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field Professional insurance qualification (CERT CII or equivalent) is an advantage Minimum 0-2 years of experience in medical underwriting, quotations, or policy issuance operations Competencies Medical underwriting and quotation accuracy Turnaround-time discipline and ability to work to deadlines Loss ratio awareness and commercial judgement Attention to detail and documentation accuracy Coordination with reinsurers, TPAs, and providers Reporting and data analysis skills Communication and customer service orientation Teamwork, collaboration, and regulatory compliance awareness
