About the Company Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.Purpose of the Job To assist the SWEs Assurance in coordinating field assurance activities in the assigned area, in driving L3 assurance elements and in ensuring follow up with contractors on close-out of action plansEducation & Experience Bachelor degree in Engineering/Science/HSE related discipline or equivalent.Oil and Gas industry experience is a must.7 years in Well Engineering and HSE in Oil and Gas, with a minimum of 4 years as Site Supervisor and HSE operational role. Main Responsibilities Accountable for taking appropriate ad-hoc action when detecting non-compliances; this may include shutting down work units in case of severe non-compliance with company requirements or to avert an unsafe situationAssist operations teams in building the annual assurance plans and to drive, manage and review L3 assurance activities carried out within the operationalteams, ensuring timeliness, quality and that learning and emerging trends are addressed.Assist the SWE Engineers Assurance – Wells and CWI as well as Operations team leaders in driving contractors to close out agreed actions.Conduct statement of fitness Assurances SOFA covering key risk areasIn cooperation with UWH, conduct competency assurance on people in key critical positionsConduct thematic L2 assurance as required when trends are identified that need to be addressedCoordinate and follow up with contractor’s management on the action plans progressDrive contractors onsite to implement and execute quality site assurance plansInstil sense of accountability and ownership with both PDO and contractors’ site supervisors; escalate issues as appropriate.Interface with field coaches on the required follow up on assurance activities & managing findings on siteDrive Learning from Incident Implementation across the organisationDrive Implementation and maintenance of Contractors’ HSE cases.Share and promote Good Practices across the fleetLead people to exhibit Lean behaviours, in compliance with PDO’s corporate Lean deployment Model, in all activities performed within their daily business to realise continuous sustained performance improvementUse the Well Engineering framework and contribute towards making UWD a learning organisation, specifically by collating all learning from IRCs, audit findings for sharing across the organisation.Live the PDO Values (Honesty, Integrity, Respect for People), exhibit the PDO behaviours (Engagement, Respect, Collaboration and Performance) and act as role model for colleagues and subordinatesSelf-assure own and assigned team’s deliverables to ensure that they are fit-for-purpose, meet company standards and are of the required quality
