Job Title Information Technology (IT) Teacher Academic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. A recognized teaching qualification such as a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), PGCE, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, or an equivalent teaching certification. A Master's degree is an advantage. Experience A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience. Experience teaching Cambridge ICT, Computer Science, or another recognized international curriculum is preferred. Experience preparing students for international examinations is preferred. Job Description Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Information Technology lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum. Teach students fundamental and advanced IT concepts, including computer systems, networking, databases, cybersecurity, programming, and digital literacy, as appropriate to the curriculum. Prepare lesson plans and learning activities that meet curriculum objectives and students' learning needs. Assess, monitor, and evaluate student performance using a variety of assessment methods. Prepare, administer, and mark assignments, projects, practical tasks, tests, and examinations. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessment results. Promote the responsible, ethical, and safe use of technology and digital resources. Support students in developing problem-solving, computational thinking, and digital skills. Ensure the effective use and proper care of computer laboratories, equipment, and educational software. Integrate educational technology and digital tools into teaching and learning. Participate in departmental meetings, school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development programs. Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress when required. Comply with all school policies, safeguarding requirements, health and safety regulations, and professional standards. Required Skills Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken. Strong classroom management skills. Excellent knowledge of Information Technology and computer applications. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to teach programming and computer applications appropriate to the curriculum. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and educational technology platforms. Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural environment. Preferred Skills Familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum. Experience teaching Cambridge ICT and/or Cambridge Computer Science. Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams. Knowledge of coding languages such as Python, Java, or Scratch (depending on the curriculum). Knowledge of networking fundamentals, cybersecurity, and database concepts. Preferred Certifications Valid teaching license (where applicable). Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE), Cisco, CompTIA, Google Educator, or equivalent. Cambridge Professional Development training or certification. Safeguarding and Child Protection certification.
