1.Strategic Leadership- Develop and execute the IT strategy for COMHS in alignment with NUST’s institutional digital plan.- Lead digital transformation initiatives including e-learning, online examinations, simulation technologies, data-driven decision-making, and smart educational tools.- Advise the Dean’s Office on emerging technologies relevant to medical education and healthcare. 2. IT Infrastructure & Systems Management- Oversee all IT infrastructure across COMHS campuses: networks, servers, classroom technologies, data centers, cloud services, and connectivity.- Ensure smooth operation of LMS (e.g., Moodle), digital assessments, OSCE management systems, and online teaching tools.- Manage IT asset lifecycle, service contracts, and vendor partnerships. 3. Support for Medical Education, Simulation & Research- Provide full support for simulation center technologies (high fidelity manikins, virtual anatomy, VR/AR systems).- Ensure reliable access to medical research databases, e-libraries, SPSS, statistical platforms, and secure research data storage.- Coordinate with faculty on integrating technology into curriculum delivery and assessment. 4. Cybersecurity, Data Protection & Compliance- Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols in accordance with national ICT regulations and university policies.- Oversee secure handling of student data, examination materials, research data, and confidential administrative information.- Maintain disaster recovery plans and business continuity frameworks. 5. Operational Management & User Support- Oversee IT helpdesk operations for faculty, staff, students, and clinical partners.- Ensure timely resolution of IT issues and maintain high user satisfaction.- Develop user manuals, guidelines, and training resources for digital tools.
6. Governance, Accreditation & Quality Assurance     - Provide technical support and evidence for accreditation requirements. - Ensure compliance with university-wide IT and quality assurance standards.- Participate in committees related to ICT governance, curriculum digitalization, and academic quality. 7. Team Leadership- Lead and supervise the COMHS IT team. - Identify training needs and support continuous professional development within the IT unit.- Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture. 8. Budgeting & Resource Management- Prepare and manage the annual IT budget for the College.- Oversee procurement of IT hardware/software following university and government regulations.- Ensure efficient and cost-effective technology solutions.
