Lab Technician (Emergency Medical Services)

The University Lab Technician is responsible for the maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment, as well as the preparation of materials for laboratory classes. The technician will work closely with faculty members to ensure that laboratory experience is safe, efficient and effective for students.
• Create a learning environment that enhances the student’s ability to use conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Prepare skills lab demonstrations and simulated learning activities in coordination with instructors.
• Provide resources in the skills and simulation lab for mastery of psychomotor and clinical reasoning skills.
• Coordinate and supervise students to ensure that lab experiences meet course outcomes.
• Work closely with faculty to plan teaching strategies that will increase the student’s ability to meet clinical skill requirements.
• Assist in developing formal lab skill assessments to meet the course outcomes.
• Provide feedback and evaluate student skills assessments in coordination with faculty.
• Assist in developing and implementing clinically based scenarios for simulation.
• Maintain records of student attendance and skill performance in the laboratory.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment of the labs.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with the local and national standards of safety rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties assigned by HoD.
• Adhere to UoB professional standard of practice.
• Promote collegiality among the members of work profession.
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/institution in the field of specialization.
• At least 2-3 yrs. of experience in the field of specialization.
• Outstanding organizing and detail-oriented skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• The capacity to function both alone and as a part of a team.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Preference:
• Omani only.
• Post-graduate specialization diploma/certificate.
• Teaching experience, particularly in similar settings.
• Experience with maintaining inventory and supplies.
• Pass the licensure exam of Oman (healthcare specializations only).

• إعداد عروض توضيحية في مختبر المهارات وأنشطة تعلم محاكاة بالتنسيق مع المدرسين.
• توفير الموارد في مختبر المهارات والمحاكاة لإتقان المهارات الحركية النفسية ومهارات التفكير السريري.
• تنسيق والإشراف على الطلبة لضمان أن تجارب المختبر تحقق مخرجات المقرر.
• العمل عن قرب مع أعضاء هيئة التدريس للتخطيط لاستراتيجيات تعليمية تزيد من قدرة الطلبة على تحقيق متطلبات المهارات السريرية.
• المساعدة في تطوير تقييمات رسمية لمهارات المختبر بما يحقق مخرجات المقرر.
• تقديم تغذية راجعة وتقييم اختبارات مهارات الطلبة بالتنسيق مع أعضاء هيئة التدريس.
• المساعدة في تطوير وتنفيذ سيناريوهات محاكاة قائمة على الحالات السريرية.
• الحفاظ على سجلات حضور الطلبة وأدائهم في المهارات داخل المختبر.
• الحفاظ على جرد (قائمة) مستلزمات ومعدات المختبرات.
• ضمان الالتزام المستمر بالمعايير المحلية والوطنية لقواعد ولوائح السلامة.
• أداء أي مهام أخرى يكلف بها رئيس القسم.
• الالتزام بالمعايير المهنية المعتمدة في جامعة البريمي.
• تعزيز روح الزمالة بين أعضاء المهنة في بيئة العمل.
• درجة البكالوريوس من جامعة أو مؤسسة معترف بها في مجال التخصص.
• خبرة لا تقل عن 2–3 سنوات في مجال التخصص.
• مهارات تنظيمية عالية والاهتمام بالتفاصيل.
• مهارات ممتازة في التواصل والعلاقات الشخصية.
• القدرة على العمل بشكل مستقل وكجزء من الفريق.
• مهارات قوية في استخدام الحاسوب، بما في ذلك إجادة برامج Microsoft Office.
• مهارات قوية في التحليل والتفكير النقدي.
يفضل:
• للعُمانيين فقط.
• دبلوم أو شهادة تخصص بعد البكالوريوس.
• خبرة في التدريس، خصوصًا في مؤسسات تعليمية مشابهة.
• خبرة في إدارة المخزون والمستلزمات المختبرية .
• اجتياز اختبار الترخيص في سلطنة عُمان (للتخصصات الصحية فقط).
