Job titleTechnician InstrumentGrade StreamOQEPFunctionOperated Assets – operations - B60 Field Operation – MaintenanceLocationOman – B60Budget control*OPEX and/or CAPEX and/or Revenue amount as relevant*Reporting toTL B60 MaintenanceDirect reports0Job purpose Execute Instrument Maintenance Works for B-60, under delegated authority and direction from TL Maintenance B-60 as Technical Service provider of maintenance and execution of minor projects, modifications in accordance with the technical standards to maintain the assets through: (1) Leading the design Maintenance instrument services on planned / un-planned maintenance works utilizing best practice. (2) Coordination and supervision of assets, products and maintenance work in the designated area, (3) Implement plans and coordinate instrument maintenance works; in order to ensure plant equipment availability, reliability & optimization of cost / resources while facilitating smooth operations of the plant to meet operational targets. The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.Main tasks and responsibilities Accountable for availability of Instrumentations, Analyzers and Controls systems, UPS/BC and communication system of the areaEnsure application of best work practices in execution of Instrumentations maintenance jobs.Responsible for Instrumentations side of project implementation in SF B-60 facilities.Implements the Preventive Maintenance (PM) plan within his section and execution along with work backlogsPrepares procurement plan for his section.Responsible for preparing the LLF of instruments and its implementationsParticipate in Management of Change (MOC) committee review meetings.Ensure Instrument equipment maintenance history & reports are updated in SAP (CMMS)Identify the critical issues, repetitive failure of Instrument equipment, done and the RCA Recommendations implemented for the areaMonitors staff attendance, attitude and implements discipline within the section.Prepare annual leave plansDirects, supervises and controls all work for instruments maintenance and calibration.Receives and analyses periodic reports on instruments maintenance and scheduled turnarounds and determines the best course of action for increasing the Section’s efficiency.Provides full technical & manpower support during plants’ shutdown.Determines long term instrument maintenance policy and oversees detailed planning of maintenance activities and programs. Reviews policies of warehouse materials/spare parts and determines strategy of their handling and procurement and ensures availability.Coordinates efforts within the Section to develop guidelines, specifications, best practices and procedures for maintenance of pressure, level, flow, temperature, vibration and pH instruments.Maintains technical expertise in functional areas of process instrumentation.Key Interactions Internal: Field Operators, Shift Team Leader, Panel Operators, Maintenance Coordinator, Process Trainer, Technical Services Department, Sr. / Engineer Operations.External: Ministries, Civil Defense, ROP and Neighboring Companies Notable Working Conditions. Field Operations and office environment, Moderate to intensive computer screen use.Education requirementsMinimum Qualifications Diploma i in Instrumentation Engineering or similarLanguage requirements Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required), Arabic - Native (desirable)Background and experienceCompetencies and skills 2+ years of relevant experienceRelevant experience in similar role (Oil & Gas)Knowledge of maintenance processes for Gas Network operations:Knowledge of instrument control loops.Familiar with Systems, Applications and Products in data processing (SAP).Experience on Local control station/ Plant interface bus and DCS.Good knowledge of modern maintenance technologies & maintenance Planning and execution of Instrumentation Equipment’s, Analysers, Calibrations, control systems, ESDs Experience and knowledge in project planning, cost control, contract development, installation, trouble shooting, and start-up.Sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in engineering field materials specifications and international standards.Good experience in handling Maintenance Contracts and shutdown related jobs.Knowledge of:Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)Expertise in SAP- PMProcess Equipment Life-Cycle ManagementGood knowledge in Quality Assurance, Quality Control and HSE plans.Familiar with techniques for ensuring data integrity with various integration of information/ reportsKnowledgeable in HSE plans related to maintenance activities.Understanding of Process (P&IDs / PFDs) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals. Soft:Verbal and writing reporting skills-effective CommunicationDemonstrated leadership impact to deliver improved and sustained performanceAble to build relationships within department staff and contractors with a focus on collaboration.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a diversified and critical environment. Technical:Through use of factsTroubleshooting and result orientedRoot Cause Analysis (RCA)Reading and interpreting engineering drawingsProject ManagementDeveloping and Modifying Technical ProceduresAbility to align the requirements of operations and maintenanceFamiliar with techniques for ensuring data integrity with various integration of information/ reportsKnowledge in estimating, budgeting and cost control
