ROLE OBJECTIVE: Responsible for developing, reviewing, implementing, and monitoring standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant ground handling operations. The role ensures alignment with international aviation standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies while supporting operational excellence across all ground operations activities. Policy & Procedure Officer: 1. Develop, write, and maintain policies, procedures, and manuals for ground operations in compliance with regulatory and industry standards (ICAO, IATA, local CAA). 2. Ensure all ground operations documentation (e.g., Ground Operations Manual, Air Cargo Management Manual, etc.) is current, consistent, and version controlled. 3. Coordinate updates to procedures following regulatory changes, internal audit findings, operational incidents, or new business requirements. 4. Collaborate with safety, compliance, and operational teams to gather inputs and validate procedure accuracy. 5. Standardize procedures across stations and ground handling partners to ensure uniformity in operations. 6. Support the rollout and implementation of updated policies and procedures across the network. 7. Conduct gap analysis and benchmarking against industry best practices to identify areas for improvement. 8. Ensure all changes in policies and procedures are communicated effectively to concerned departments and stakeholders. 9. Assist in preparing documentation and procedural content for audits, inspections, and safety reviews. 10. Act as a focal point for stations seeking clarifications or interpretations of policies and procedures. 11. Support training teams in translating updated procedures into training materials and programs. 12. Participate in safety investigations or compliance reviews to ensure documented procedures are aligned with actual practices. 13. Monitor compliance with documented procedures through feedback, audits, and field observations. 14. Contribute to the enhancement of the airline's Safety Management System (SMS) by ensuring procedural controls are in place. 15. Maintain a central repository of operational policies, SOPs, circulars, and technical documentation along with station acknowledgement. 16. Any other duties that may be assigned by the line manager. Qualification and Experience Individuals should possess a strong knowledge of Ground operations along with IATA/ICAO and local regulations along with excellent writing and formatting skills. Additionally, they should be familiar with the airline's SMS (Safety Management System) program. Educational Qualifications - BA holder in any discipline from a recognized university. Experience - A minimum of 5 years of experience in the aviation industry, with at least 3 years focused on ground operations manual writing. The team member should be well-versed in both national and international ground operations policies. Furthermore, the team member should be established as a strong team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
