SCADA EMS Principal Engineer

Job Contents:
The primary objective of this role is to provide strategic guidance, technical leadership, and expertise in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems to support the organization's goals and objectives. This role plays a critical role in advising on the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of SCADA systems, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and business needs. This Role aims to drive innovation, efficiency, reliability, and scalability in SCADA system projects and operations. Additionally, the role involves mentoring junior engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends.
• Responsible for Managing SCADA Master systems, Data Analytics & other related applications of OETC transmission network.
• Provide expert guidance and advisory services on SCADA system architecture, design, and implementation strategies to meet organizational objectives.
• Provide technical expertise and support to SCADA system engineers, and operations personnel during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing SCADA systems, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions to enhance efficiency, reliability, and cybersecurity.
• Maintaining SCADA Communication servers (FEPs) and troubleshooting any communication issue.
• Managing and configuring e-terracontrol and all its related tools and functionalities
• Experience with e-terrasource and the process of integrating new Gris stations as well as modifying existing ones.
• To improve and enhance the process of adding new GS into GE e-terraplatform system.
• Maintaining total hardware in the control center(s), preventive maintenance at various levels with the support of SCADA team
• System administration, network administration, e-terra patch updates, Antivirus patch updates.
• Review of the specifications of future Projects, Design documents review and approval. Project implementation support
• Helping in building technically strong permanent team for OETC
• Reporting major changes/bugs in the system in advance to GE, which are hampering daily operations.
• Collaborating with engineering teams to develop and implement SCADA/Data analytics strategies that optimize operational efficiency, reliability, and performance.
• Develop policies, procedures and processes for the SCADA systems and ensure the implementation of these policies and procedures by other staff.
• Sharing skills and experience with colleagues and supporting the development of staff.
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to SCADA systems, including communication failures, data discrepancies, and software glitches.
• Assisting EMS Engineer for Database Modifications.
• Configuration and customization of Software – Database, mimics, reports, cases, historic, data.
• Centralized archiving, data storage and retrieval facilities.
Job Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Instrumentation / Electronics / computer Engineering
Professional Experience
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience
Certification Required Recommended
Networking & Security:
• Cisco CCNA / CCNP
• Fortinet NSE / Palo Alto PCNSE
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
Microsoft & Directory Services:
• VMware Certified Professional
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
