Operational Technology Engineer (OT - SCADA)

-Duration of contract: 2 years.
Main Job Description:
Responsible for the design, operation, and optimization of the industrial network and SCADA communication infrastructure supporting wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and remote assets. Ensures high availability, redundancy, secure connectivity, and continuous data flow across all control system components.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in SCADA / ICS environments, preferably in water or wastewater utilities.
• Proven experience in managing industrial Ethernet networks (Layer 2/3).
• Strong knowledge of:
-VLANs, RSTP/MSTP, routing fundamentals
-SNMP configuration and network monitoring
-Industrial communication protocols (Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, etc.)
• Hands-on experience in designing redundancy and high-availability architectures.
Preferred Certifications:
• CCNA / CCNP (or industrial networking equivalent)
• Vendor SCADA/network certification (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, GE)
• ITIL Foundation (optional)
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and maintain SCADA network architecture for wastewater facilities and remote pumping stations.
• Configure and manage industrial switches, routers, fiber networks, and communication links.
• Implement and maintain network redundancy and failover mechanisms.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and fault diagnostics.
• Support SCADA data communication between PLCs, RTUs, and control room systems.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity team on network segmentation and secure architecture.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Participate in FAT/SAT, commissioning, and system upgrades.
• Perform any other duties assigned by NDS Management as required.
