Job description

Job Purpose:

The incumbent is required to prepare contract purchase orders for Operational products and services, ensure orders are received, retain packing slips and documentation, and process all invoices for payment. The role also assists with general office operations and other related duties as assigned.

Main Tasks & Accountabilities:

Strategic Sourcing for Procurement

Locating and maintaining the best sources of supply for the components, materials, and services Mazoon needs.
Select suppliers that can act as long-term partners and help Mazoon meet its growth objectives.
Assess the performance of suppliers against criteria such as quality, cost, reliability, ability to innovate and financial stability.
Assess the total cost of dealing with a supplier, including price and factors such as the costs of delivery, administration quality control and inventory.
Obtaining the best supplies or services at the best value, according to the Administrative Services Transformation Project.
Achieve cost reductions while maintaining or improving the quality of supplies and services.
Assess suppliers’ quality standards and encourage suppliers to integrate their standards with Mazoon.
Identify the suppliers that are most important to the success of the company and negotiate long-term contracts that set out prices, quality standards, cost-reduction targets, delivery timescales, and commercial terms and conditions.
Monitor the performance of suppliers against contractual standards and work with them to achieve continuous improvements in costs and performance.
Handle purchasing requests from different departments, issue purchase orders for non-strategic supplies and follow up orders to ensure that suppliers deliver on time.
Create reports on purchasing and compare expenditures against purchasing budgets for different departments or different types of supply.

Main Contacts and Working Relationships

Internal: All Department Heads and Line Managers.
External: Stakeholders, customers, agencies etc.

Education Level –    Minimum Requirement

Bachelor’s in supply chain management, logistics or a quantitative field

Professional   Qualifications

Certificate course in data management and analysis preferred
Have a valid driver’s license

Work Experience

Overall experience of at least 4 Years
Experience in dairy products will be preferred
Strong understanding of the Middle East and African markets

Job Specific Skills

Keen knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as dexterity in “reading” the market
Talent in negotiations and networking
Experience in collecting and analyzing data
Good knowledge of supplier and third-party management software
Ability to deal with operational challenges
Keen understanding of the supply chain
Financial awareness to understand and interpret numbers; Excellent written & verbal communication / presentation skills
Team player with excellent motivational skills

Position Location

To be based in Al Sunainah and travelling to all depots in Oman
