<p>Purpose of Job: </p> <p>Design, maintain, and improve plant electrical systems to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operations of the copper concentrator while supporting continuous production and adherence to technical and safety standards.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: </p> <p>1. Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.</p> <p>2. Ensure reliability of large power equipment like SAG/BALL Mill, Blower, Conveyor drive systems, Pump stations and thickener.</p> <p>3. Design and implement upgrades to electrical infrastructure to enhance energy efficiency, capacity, and system reliability.</p> <p>4. Supervise installation and commissioning of major electrical assets (motors, MCCs, VFDs, switchgear, transformers, PLC/SCADA) to ensure proper functionality and compliance.</p> <p>5. Ensure full compliance with national and international electrical standards (IEC/IEEE) and safety codes to maintain regulatory readiness and safe working conditions.</p> <p>6. Should have strong planning skills, including the ability to develop preventive/predictive maintenance plans, schedule shutdown jobs, allocate resources effectively, and coordinate with operations to minimize downtime.</p> <p>7. Oversee electrical project execution, including budget, scheduling, and contractor supervision, to deliver results within scope and cost constraints.</p> <p>Principal Challenges:</p> <p>1. Maintaining reliability of critical electrical systems amidst aging infrastructure and continuous production demands.</p> <p>2. Ensuring safety and compliance in high-voltage, high-risk environments with strict regulatory oversight.</p> <p>3. Integrating complex systems, including power distribution, PLCs, SCADA, and VFDs, across multidisciplinary teams.</p> <p>Minimum Academic / Professional Qualification:</p> <p>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.</p> <p>Minimum Work Experience: </p> <p>Minimum of 10 years or above experience in heavy industry, preferably in mining or processing plants.</p> <p>Skills & Competencies Required:</p> <p>1. Strong expertise in power distribution, motor control centers, VFDs, PLC/SCADA systems, and automation.</p> <p>2. Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar design tools for schematic development.</p> <p>3. Solid understanding of electrical safety practices, risk mitigation, and compliance frameworks.</p> <p>4. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.</p> <p>5. Effective leadership, communication, and team coordination capabilities.</p> <p>6. Ability to work under pressure, manage emergency response situations, and prioritize competing deadlines.</p> <p>7. Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP) for maintenance planning and tracking.</p> <p>8. Ongoing commitment to learning emerging technologies in automation, energy efficiency, and condition monitoring.</p> <p>9. Certified Competent Electrical Person (CEP) with full knowledge of Switching, Isolation, LOTO, PTW process </p> <p></p> <p></p>
