1. ROLE OBJECTIVE
JOB CONTENT (state in brief)
Responsible for the maintenance of field instruments related large water distribution and transmission Network Systems
2. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic
• Operate and monitor the SCADA system for the water supply network, including pumping stations, reservoirs, tanker filling stations, and borewells to ensure smooth and reliable operation.
• Monitor real-time parameters such as flow, pressure, level, pump status, and valve status, water quality parameters.
• Identify alarms, faults, and abnormal conditions and take corrective actions.
• Ensure continuous communication between SCADA, RTU/PLC, and field devices.
• SCADA system configuration, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
Financial
Check the cost as per budget.
Operational
• Minimum 4-Years working experience for the Operation and Maintenance of Various types of field instruments.
• Responsible for Instrument data sheets, drawings, P& Ids, I/O wiring diagrams, charts, specifications, graphs, charts, etc.
• Supervise and directs all maintenance personnel in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Maintain and troubleshoot field instruments including:
o Flowmeters (electromagnetic / ultrasonic)
o Pressure transmitters
o Level transmitters
o Control valves and actuators
o Water Quality Analyzer (PH,Conductivity, chlorine and turbidity)
• Perform calibration checks and ensure instrument accuracy.
• Replace or repair faulty instruments as required.
• Support PLC/RTU configuration, Programming, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain Modbus RTU/TCP communication between instruments, RTUs, and SCADA.
• Assist in modification of logic and communication settings when required.
• Attend all the work orders given by Client regarding identification & troubleshooting of issues related to SCADA & PLC.
• Review the implementation of measuring devices or new control systems. Ensure each part is installed properly and conduct test runs before initiating actual operations.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance of SCADA and instrumentation systems.
• Attend breakdowns and restore system functionality in minimum downtime.
• Maintain maintenance logs, reports, and service records.
People Management
• Keep Project Manager informed of all unusual conditions or maintenance problems. Assure that the entire plant and all equipments are in proper operating condition with proper data Management & SCADA control
• Cooperates with site team to keep records of maintenance and service records of equipments.
• Supervise and directs all maintenance personnel in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Other Responsibilities
• Prepare and recommend specifications for equipment and material purchases.
• Report to Maintenance Manager
• Advise on Technical Support aspects
• Be fully aware of Contract requirements
• Observe procedures as required by the Contract
• Coordinate and monitor the preparation and submission of Drawings.
• Co ordinate with the external agencies like Omantel And PAEW for getting permissions and approvals
• Prepare Method Statements, Liaise with the Client Engineer.
• Attend relevant meetings with Project Manager.
• Ensure adequate protection of equipment at all times.
Ensure Health & Safety is adequately observed.
