QC Welding Inspector - CBT

Job DescriptionRoles & ResponsibilitiesJob SummaryThe CBT Welding Inspector (TPI) will act as an independent third-party representative to ensure that all welding and fabrication activities for offshore structures are executed in full compliance with client specifications, international standards, and project quality requirements. The role involves unbiased inspection, verification, and reporting to the client.Key Responsibilities:NDT CoordinationWitness and validate NDT activities such as RT, UT, MT, and PT.Review NDT reports and ensure acceptance criteria compliance.Documentation & ReportingReview and endorse QA/QC documentation including:Welding procedures (WPS/PQR)Inspection reportsMaterial traceability recordsPrepare daily/weekly inspection reports and submit to client/TPI agency.Identify and report non-conformances (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.Compliance & StandardsEnsure adherence to: AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, ISO standards, Client specifications and project requirementsVerify material identification and traceability.Stakeholder CoordinationInterface with contractor QA/QC, client representatives, and project team.Provide technical clarification and inspection feedback.Required Qualifications & CertificationsDiploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI or equivalent (Mandatory).CBT Certification (as per client/project requirements).Knowledge of international codes and offshore fabrication standards.Experience RequirementsMandatory experience in Third Party Inspection (TPI) assignmentsStrong background in offshore structures (jackets, topsides, modules) fabricated in onshore yards.
