Role Objective: 1. Overseeing and optimizing the technical operations across multiple key areas, including Structures & Interiors, Systems, Avionics, Maintenance Planning, Powerplants, Warranty, Reliability, and Technical Records & Publications. This role aims to ensure the efficient and compliant maintenance and support of the fleet, driving continuous improvement in reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness. 2. Lead a cross-functional team, ensure regulatory compliance, and implement best practices to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence across all technical services. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Oversee and guide the preparation of technical data, documents, and correspondence needed for manufacturers, overhaul and repair agencies, suppliers, and other relevant parties. 2. Ensure that all technical publications within the department are up-to-date, accurately amended, and properly maintained. 3. Oversee, coordinate, and manage the updates and maintenance of engineering software and IT-related equipment through the appropriate personnel. 4. Collaborate with the Commercial, Supply Chain, and Legal departments to provide contractual expertise for all technical projects and programs, ensuring full compliance with contract terms during the awarding process. 5. Interface directly with concerned departments to effectively manage contract requirements, including negotiating changes due to design or schedule revisions, resolving disputes, and ensuring proper contract closure upon completion. 6. Review and coordinate proposal preparation, statements of work, specifications, cost estimations, and contract negotiations to support the Director of Engineering in selecting the best options and taking necessary action steps. 7. Ensure the Aircraft Maintenance Program is based on the Maintenance Review Board’s report, where applicable, and is structured to align with Salam Air’s operations, maximizing the asset value of the fleet in line with the company’s fleet planning strategy. 8. Ensure the Aircraft Maintenance Program is developed and updated in accordance with the Type Certificate Holder’s recommendations, any aircraft modifications, operational experience (including data from the aircraft reliability program), and requirements set by the Oman CAA. 9. Monitor Airworthiness Directive activity to ensure mandatory airworthiness requirements are effectively complied with. 10. Evaluate non-mandatory modifications and approve them in accordance with predefined embodiment processes and policies. 11. Liaise with original equipment manufacturers regarding proposed aircraft and equipment modifications, including specifications, timely provision of parts, supplementary type certification, budgeting, and work order development. 12. Ensure that all required paperwork and documentation are properly generated, controlled, and cleared in accordance with approved procedures before releasing the aircraft for service. 13. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of technical records, publications, and documentation for the entire fleet. Oversee the maintenance of manuals, bulletins, and logbooks to comply with regulatory and internal requirements. 14. Design, update, implement, and manage the Aircraft Technical Log system in compliance with Oman CAA requirements. 15. Plan and prepare a feasibility study for the introduction of an Electronic Technical Logbook (eTechLog), ensuring alignment with the latest industry standards and guidelines. 16. Manage the acceptance of continuing airworthiness records for aircraft being inducted into the Salam Air fleet, ensuring compliance with future continuing airworthiness obligations, and oversee the transfer of airworthiness records for aircraft being transitioned out of the Salam Air fleet. 17. Ensure that all relevant maintenance data required to establish methods, techniques, standards, and instructions for maintaining the airworthiness of Salam Air aircraft is acquired, kept up-to-date and accurate, and made accessible to all personnel involved in continuing airworthiness activities. 18. Implement and oversee reliability programs to monitor aircraft performance, identify recurring issues, and drive corrective actions. 19. Oversee the maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft structures and interiors, ensuring regulatory compliance, resolving complex structural issues, and optimizing service efficiency. 20. Manage avionics support for troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades, ensuring system functionality, safety standards compliance, and effective integration with the avionics team while adhering to maintenance schedules. 21. Coordinate and optimize maintenance schedules to ensure fleet readiness, develop and implement maintenance programs in compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer recommendations, and evaluate the impact of scheduled maintenance on fleet performance and availability. 22. Lead the maintenance, repair, and inspection of aircraft engines and powerplant systems, collaborating with engineering teams to ensure engines meet performance, reliability, and safety standards while overseeing component repairs and replacements. 23. Manage warranty claims and processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution, while collaborating with manufacturers, suppliers, and internal teams to track claims and minimize fleet downtime. 24. Oversee the contracted supplier of engine on and off wing management, services, ensuring the airworthiness compliance, analysis of data and maintenance is performed to the required standards 25. Review engine trend monitoring reports from the contracted supplier and analysis of engine data trend developments, ensuring appropriate action taken when required 26. Overseeing the forecasting and initiation of power plant removals 27. Represent Salam Air at technical liaison, reliability, and modification meetings. 28. Perform any additional tasks as assigned by superiors. Education & Experience: 1. Graduate in Mechanical/Aeronautical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. 2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the aviation industry, including at least 3 years in Technical Services Engineering. Special Skills & Knowledge: 1. Strong decision-making abilities. 2. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressure. 9. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Other Requirement (if any): A solid technical background in Technical Service operations, with expertise in Structures & Interiors, Systems, Avionics, Maintenance Planning, Powerplants, Warranty, Reliability, and Technical Records & Publications.
