• The Quantity Surveyor shall manage and execute quantity surveying activities across the full contract lifecycle, including contracting strategy input, tender preparation, evaluation, contractor selection, post-contract valuation, change assessment, and final account settlement.• The role covers estimating, quantification, progressive valuation of completed works, and assessment of changes against scope, plan, entitlement, and pricing mechanisms. The Quantity Surveyor shall also support demand management, challenge specifications and cost assumptions, influence commercial decisions, resolve measurement, valuation, and payment disputes in a principled manner to protect the Company’s interests and preserve contract value.Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.• Minimum 4 years’ experience in quantity surveying, preferably within oil & gas.• Membership of a recognised professional body, such as RICS or CIPS, is an advantage.• Strong knowledge and practical application of measurement, valuation, estimating, contract pricing mechanisms, and post-contract commercial administration. Main Responsibilities
• Maintain HSE as the priority through compliance with PDO House Rules, PDO HSE Golden Rules, and PDO Life Saving Rules.• Comply with the Code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy, Company General Business Principles, ISAT, and IT compliance requirements.• Declare any Conflicts of Interest and safeguard the Company’s interests.• Prepare cost estimates at different stages of project design and execution.• Manage post-contract commercial activities, including expenditure monitoring, reporting, cash flow forecasting, commitment tracking, cost allocation, and spend visibility against contract value.• May be assigned responsibility for a contract, area, or cluster of contracts, and when assigned, shall be accountable for coordinating QS deliverables, commercial controls, KPI reporting, and issue escalation within the assigned cluster.• Measure and value construction works in accordance with the contract.• Support post-award contract administration from commencement through final completion and close-out in accordance with contract terms and conditions.• Assess contractor claims, prepare the Company’s commercial position, and support dispute resolution through negotiation or other contractual mechanisms.• Negotiate and settle final accounts at contract close-out, ensuring all measured works, variations, and contractual entitlements are agreed and documented.• Manage SAP technical verification and financial support for Purchase Order payments in line with Company procedures.• Maintain good office administration and filing systems.• Maintain strong knowledge and understanding of the QS role, its function within the organisation, and the expectations of the role.• Support and coach less experienced Quantity Surveyors and relevant stakeholders to develop in-house talent and meet current and future challenges.• Advise on and drive awareness of typical industry Health, Safety, and Environmental risks, including the behaviours and controls required to mitigate them
