JOB PURPOSE: To safely and efficiently operate forklifts and related material handling equipment in support of scaffolding, utility services, civil maintenance activities and environmental management within the shipyard. The role ensures timely movement of materials, tools, waste, and equipment while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental standards. REPORTING STRUCTURE: Description • To operate a 3~32 tons forklift for loading and unloading of all type of materials as required, and also to carry out the regular inspection/lubricating of the equipment and working with plant operators/technicians in order to make sure the different types of products are stocked properly in the facility and equipment’s are maintained/operated as per established standards of HSSE/ROP. • Operate forklifts (including heavy-capacity and rough terrain units) to transport scaffolding materials, civil construction materials, utility equipment, environmental waste containers, and operational supplies. • Load and unload trucks, containers, and storage areas safely and efficiently. • Support scaffolding teams by delivering and retrieving scaffolding components and platforms. • Assist Utility and Civil Maintenance teams with movement of pipes, cables, concrete materials, and maintenance tools. • Transport waste materials and environmental containers in compliance with environmental regulations. • Conduct daily pre-operation inspections and complete safety checklists. • Report equipment defects and coordinate maintenance requirements. • Ensure proper load securing and safe stacking practices. • Follow shipyard safety policies, PPE requirements, and environmental protection procedures. • Maintain housekeeping standards in assigned work areas. • Assist other operational tasks as directed by the supervisor. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Forklift Operator Certification. Minimum Experience: Minimum 1 year of forklift operating experience in shipyard, marine, construction, or heavy industrial environment. Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills: • Knowledge of shipyard safety standards and safe material handling practices. • Experience handling heavy and oversized loads. • Understanding of environmental compliance requirements for waste handling. • Ability to work in outdoor and high-risk environments. • Good communication and teamwork skills. • Basic equipment inspection and maintenance knowledge.
