Position within the organisational structure.
Candidate will be part of the ESG and ICV Team and will be required to provide contractual support to operations and wells which are part of the operations team.
The candidate will be responsible for analyzing and reporting the organization's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to collect data, assess performance, and prepare reports that effectively communicate the organization’s ESG practices to internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of ESG frameworks, regulations, and reporting standards, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.
In addition to the above, the candidate will oversee the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives within the organization. This will include developing and implementing CSR strategies that align with the company’s values and business objectives, leading community engagement programs, and promoting ethical and sustainable practices across the organization. The candidate will ensure that CSR efforts are communicated effectively both internally and externally and that the company’s social impact is measured and reported.
Furthermore, the candidate will be responsible for In-Country Value (ICV) within the organization, providing dedicated ICV support to the entire ARA organization. In doing so, the incumbent will ensure compliance with ICV mandates in ARA contracts with contractors and act as the focal point between the company and contractors for any ICV-related matters. Internally, the ICV Manager will ensure that ICV is included in contracts and will work to maximize ICV opportunities within the ARA region and its supply chains.
Accountabilities.
-          Collect and analyze data from various internal and external sources to evaluate the organization's ESG performance.
-          Assess environmental impact, social practices, and governance policies to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
-          Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and sustainability disclosures that effectively communicate the organization's ESG performance to stakeholders.
-          Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant ESG regulations, frameworks, and reporting standards.
-          Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to gather data and ensure accurate reporting.
-          Stay informed about emerging ESG trends, benchmarks, and best practices.
-          Support the development of ESG strategies, goals, and initiatives based on performance analysis and industry research.
-          Track and report on the progress of ESG initiatives and goals over time. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
-          Identify ICV opportunities by analysing (long term and short term) procurement needs in terms of maximum impact on ICV and minimum effort in implementation of development and improvement activities to local suppliers/contractors and personnel.
-          Prioritization of commodities, cost items, and workforce development strategies
-          Suggesting the most appropriate development strategy and objectives per commodity to maximize the overall ICV level achieved.
-          Prioritize the activities of the ICV Management functions, particularly for vendor development & qualification projects.
-          Develop an ICV short term management activity plan to prioritize, on a contract level, the activities of ICV development and realization functions by focusing on ongoing contracts, which have a significant impact on overall ICV performance of the company.
-          ARA ICV policy development, review and governance
-          Internal and external advocacy of ARA ICV objectives, strategies and policy
-          Performance and compliance monitoring and reporting on ICV commitments against actual delivery and manage and execute the reporting to PDO and MEM
-          Coordinate with other key stakeholders in the Oman Oil and Gas sector (IOC’s MOG, OPAL, Min of Commerce and Industry etc..) to ensure alignment on strategy and delivery of cross industry opportunities.
-          Monitor and measure the effectiveness of CSR programs, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
-          Promote sustainability and environmental stewardship through CSR activities, aligning with company sustainability goals.
-          Ensure CSR initiatives comply with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
-          Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, non-profits, and other stakeholders to enhance CSR efforts.
-          Promote employee involvement in CSR programs and volunteerism, fostering a culture of corporate responsibility.
-          Develop and implement CSR strategies and programs aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
