bp Wells Summer Intern – Oman

bp has a strong presence in Oman, working on complex and innovative energy projects. Our Wells teams operate at the forefront of drilling, completions, and intervention operations, with a strong focus on safety, performance, and continuous improvement.

Role overview
As a Wells Summer Intern, you will gain exposure to a range of well-related activities within bp’s operations, including drilling, completions, and well interventions.
During the internship, you will work alongside experienced engineers and specialists, support day-to-day activities and contribute to real business tasks. This may include exposure to well planning, operational execution, performance monitoring, and technical analysis.
You will also support data analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives, building a practical understanding of how wells engineering ensures safe, efficient, and reliable hydrocarbon delivery.

Key responsibilities

Support engineering and operations activities (drilling, completions, interventions)
Assist in data analysis, reporting, and technical documentation
Contribute to well planning and operational tracking
Participating in operational reviews and performance monitoring
Support continuous improvement and well efficiency initiatives
Collaborate with teams to ensure safe and compliant well operations

Who we’re looking for

Students in years 3 and 4 of undergraduate studies
Studying Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil Engineering, or related disciplines
Minimum GPA of 2.8
Omani nationality (citizenship required)
Strong interest in wells engineering and operations
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Proactive mindset and willingness to learn
