SUMMARY OF ROLEThe Assurance & Governance Manager – PMO is responsible for ensuring robust governance, control, and assurance across the Bank’s project and program portfolio. The role oversees adherence to the project management framework, policies, and procedures, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery aligned with time, cost, and quality objectives. The role also drives PMO maturity by conducting health checks, enhancing governance standards, strengthening reporting accuracy, and embedding continuous improvement practices across all projects and programs within the portfolio. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPortfolio Governance & ReportingLead the preparation and consolidation of weekly and monthly portfolio reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with actual project performance.Review and challenge inputs from Project Managers to ensure quality, consistency, and transparency of reporting across all governance forums.Ensure all reporting is delivered within agreed timelines and meets senior management and governance requirements. Project Assurance & Health ChecksConduct periodic project health checks across all programs and projects to assess performance against scope, timeline, cost, and quality.Identify gaps, risks, and non-compliance areas, and ensure timely tracking and closure of corrective actions.Provide independent assurance on project delivery and escalate critical issues impacting portfolio performance. Risk, Issue & Dependency ManagementMonitor and ensure effective management of risks, issues, and interdependencies across projects.Highlight and escalate gaps where risks and issues are not actively managed by project teams.Support mitigation planning to minimize impact on project delivery and overall portfolio performance. PMO Controls & Registers ManagementOversee and maintain PMO registers, including risk logs, change control, contracts, VAPT exceptions, and lessons learned.Ensure registers are consistently updated, accurate, and aligned with governance requirements.Implement standardized processes for tracking and reporting across all PMO control areas. Governance Forums & Stakeholder CoordinationPlan, coordinate, and facilitate governance forums including project boards and steering committees.Ensure accurate documentation of meeting minutes, decisions, and actions within defined timelines.Track and follow up on all actions to ensure timely closure and accountability. Financial Governance & Budget OversightEstablish and monitor project budget tracking and forecasting processes aligned with approved plans.Ensure financial data is accurately reflected in portfolio reporting and governance discussions. Post-Implementation Review & Continuous ImprovementReview and quality assure post-implementation reviews to ensure alignment between planned and actual outcomes.Ensure lessons learned are captured, documented, and shared across the PMO.Conduct quarterly analysis of lessons learned to identify trends and drive continuous improvement Process Improvement & PMO MaturityIdentify opportunities to enhance PMO processes, tools, and governance frameworks.Lead initiatives to improve PMO maturity, efficiency, and effectiveness.Promote best practices in project management and governance across the organization. Stakeholder Management & CollaborationBuild and maintain strong working relationships with project sponsors, business units, IT, and senior stakeholders.Influence stakeholders to ensure adherence to governance standards and successful project delivery.Provide guidance and support to Project Managers on governance, reporting, and assurance requirements. Requirements· Omani National· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field· Minimum 5–7 years of experience in project management, PMO, or governance roles
