JOB PURPOSE:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the highest executive authority in Mazoon Mining Company (MMC), a 2.5 Mtpa copper processing operation with six active open pits and significant exploration upside. The CEO is accountable to the Board of Directors for the overall strategic direction, commercial performance, operational integrity, and organisational development of the Company. The role provides decisive executive leadership to translate the Board's mandate into a high-performing, safe, and sustainable mining business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP
1. Vision & Strategy
· Define and execute the Company's vision, mission, values, and short- and long-term strategic objectives in alignment with the Board's direction.
· Provide oversight of all strategic initiatives, ensuring operational plans are aligned with approved business plans and shareholder expectations.
· Identify and evaluate growth opportunities, including expansion of the pit network and exploration programme, to maximise the asset's long-term value.
2. Board Governance & Reporting
· Serve as the primary executive interface with the Board of Directors, providing regular, accurate, and transparent reports on business performance, risks, and strategic developments.
· Identify material issues and opportunities; bring appropriate matters to the Board and its committees for deliberation and approval.
· Ensure all Board resolutions are implemented in a timely and compliant manner.
OPERATIONAL & FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
3. Operational Oversight
· Provide oversight of all Company operations including mining, processing (2.5 Mtpa plant), maintenance, HSE, finance, and corporate functions.
· Oversee the transition from project commissioning and ramp-up through to sustained, nameplate commercial production.
· Oversee project planning, execution, tender management, and contract administration.
4. Financial Stewardship
· Approve and manage OPEX and CAPEX in line with Board-sanctioned plans; oversee budgeting, reporting, and audit.
· Drive revenue generation strategies and establish goals to maximise shareholder value and long-term returns.
· Ensure prudent financial management including treasury, debt covenants, and lender reporting obligations.
HSE, STAKEHOLDERS & PEOPLE
5. HSE & Regulatory Compliance
· Champion a zero-harm culture across all site and corporate activities.
· Ensure full compliance with all applicable Omani laws, regulations, and international standards governing the mining and processing sector.
· Maintain all operating licences, environmental permits, and regulatory approvals required for uninterrupted operations.
6. Stakeholder Management
· Develop and maintain productive relationships with the shareholder (Minerals Development Oman, MDO), government ministries, regulatory bodies, financial institutions, lenders, and media.
· Maintain open and effective communication with local communities to ensure a positive social licence to operate.
· Represent MMC at legislative sessions, industry forums, and formal functions.
7. People, Culture & ESG
· Build a high-performance, values-driven culture that attracts, retains, and develops talent.
· Drive Omanisation targets and structured succession planning across all levels of the organisation.
Oversee ESG commitments including decarbonisation targets, water stewardship, tailings management, and community investment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Certifications: PMP or equivalent executive management certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum 15 years in senior management of large-scale mining projects or companies, with a demonstrated track record as CEO or senior executive.
• Proven experience in strategic planning, financial management, stakeholder engagement, and operational leadership in the mining, oil & gas, or heavy industry sector.
• Experience with copper or base-metal operations is an advantage.
