Job DescriptionRoles & ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on forklifts and material-handling equipment.Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults in Forklifts.Conduct routine inspections and identify safety-critical defects.Troubleshoot forklift breakdowns and restore equipment to safe operating condition with minimum downtime.Maintain and repair mast, lifting, steering, braking, transmission, drive, hydraulic, and electrical systems.Carry out battery, charging-system, engine, fuel, and cooling-system maintenance as applicable to the equipment type.Use diagnostic tools, test equipment, service manuals, and technical schematics to identify faults.Perform functional and safety checks after completing repairs.Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, spare parts, and preventive maintenance activities.Follow all company HSE, maintenance, and equipment safety procedures.Essential Qualifications & ExperienceTechnical diploma/certificate in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, Heavy Equipment, or a related technical field.Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Forklift Technician, Material Handling Equipment Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician, or similar role.Hands-on experience with electric and/or internal-combustion forklifts.Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.Proven ability to diagnose faults and perform repairs independently.Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics.Experience using mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diagnostic tools.Good knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.Strong understanding of equipment safety and safe maintenance procedures.Experience with major forklift brands/OEM equipment is an advantage.Key CompetenciesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Good mechanical and technical aptitude.Safety-focused approach to all maintenance activities.Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.Good attention to detail and quality of workmanship.Ability to work under pressure and respond to equipment breakdowns.Good communication and reporting skills.Reliable, disciplined, and service-oriented.Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or emergency breakdown support when required.Preferred / AdvantageousOEM/manufacturer training or certification in forklift maintenance.Experience with Toyota, Hyster-Yale, Linde, Jungheinrich, Mitsubishi, Crown, CAT, Komatsu, or other major forklift brands.Experience with modern electric forklifts, electronic control systems, and diagnostic software.Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, port, or industrial environments.Valid driving license, where applicable.
