Pharmacist

<p>3.1 The Supervisor makes periodic checks and is available for advice on more difficult problems</p>
<p>but basically the Pharmacist works independently, and is held responsible legally for failure</p>
<p>to exercise due care in the dispensation of pharmaceuticals. Incumbent may perform on shift</p>
<p>and is expected to be on call for emergencies as required.</p>
<p>3.2 Provides work direction for Assistant Pharmacists, and related staff.</p>
<p>3.3 A licensed pharmacist who is delegated to manage and supervise the pharmacy licensed on,</p>
<p>from the technical and managerial issues during his/her assigned working hours, duties</p>
<p>include</p>
<p>3.4 Assigning working hours for establishment and employees.</p>
<p>3.5 Dispensing medications to patients after checking and counseling.</p>
<p>3.6 Calling physicians to clarify a prescription when in doubt.</p>
<p>3.7 Answering all patients’ questions.</p>
<p>3.8 Compounding medications or supervising its preparations.</p>
<p>3.9 Supervising all pharmacy employee and trainee.</p>
<p>3.10 Checking upon prescriptions from all aspects before he/she dispense it.</p>
<p>3.11 Dispensing and register controlled and compounded prescriptions on their special books.</p>
<p>3.12 Keeping custody of controlled medication and abidance with its laws and regulations.</p>
<p>3.13 Spontaneous dispensing of some medications.</p>
<p>3.14 Advises Physicians on equivalents or substitute drugs.</p>
<p>3.15 Helps reviews drug usage patterns and suggests control when needed.</p>
<p>3.16 Helps in frequent inspection of nursing drug cabinets, emergency trays and crash carts.</p>
<p>3.17 Helps monitor pharmaceutical and other established indicators to ensure ongoing quality</p>
<p>assurance.</p>
<p>3.18 Strictly observes organization’s medical regulations and policies especially those related to</p>
<p>infection control, patient safety, patient assessment and patient care.</p>
<p>3.19 Ensure compliance to all laws, circulars and regulations related to the pharmacy profession.</p>
<p>3.20 Carries out any other assignment by Head Pharmacist.</p>
