Job Title

English Teacher

Academic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in English Language, English Literature, English Language Teaching (ELT), TESOL, TEFL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.
A recognized teaching qualification such as a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), PGCE, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, or an equivalent teaching certification is preferred.
A Master's degree in English, Education, or a related field is an advantage.
A valid IELTS certificate is required with an overall band score of at least 6.0 for Omani applicants and 7.0 for non-Omani applicants.

Experience
A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience.
Experience teaching the Cambridge International Curriculum or another recognized international curriculum is preferred.
Experience preparing students for national or international examinations is an advantage.

Job Description
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum.
Develop lesson plans that meet curriculum objectives and address students' diverse learning needs.
Teach English language skills, including reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, and literature.
Use a variety of effective teaching strategies to promote student engagement, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Prepare, administer, and mark assignments, quizzes, tests, and examinations.
Monitor, assess, and evaluate students' academic progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievement, and assessment results.
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports language acquisition and student development.
Integrate educational technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning.
Participate in departmental meetings, school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development programs.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress and well-being when required.
Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and continuous school improvement.
Comply with all school policies, safeguarding requirements, health and safety regulations, and professional standards.

Required Skills
Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Strong classroom management skills.
Excellent knowledge of English language teaching methodologies.
Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to develop students' language proficiency and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and educational technology platforms.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural environment.

Preferred Skills
Familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum.
Experience teaching English at the Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE, or AS & A Level.
Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams.
Knowledge of differentiated instruction and student-centered learning strategies.

Preferred Certifications
Valid teaching license (where applicable).
A valid IELTS certificate with an overall band score of at least 6.0 for Omani applicants and 7.0 for non-Omani applicants.
Cambridge Professional Development training or certification.
Safeguarding and Child Protection certification.
