Job Title

Science Teacher

Academic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Science, or Education (Science).
A recognized teaching qualification such as a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), PGCE, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, or an equivalent teaching certification is preferred.
A Master's degree in the relevant subject or Education is an advantage.
Experience
A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience.
Experience teaching the Cambridge International Curriculum or another recognized international curriculum is preferred.
Experience preparing students for national or international examinations is an advantage.
Job Description
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Science lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum.
Develop lesson plans that meet curriculum objectives and address students' diverse learning needs.
Deliver engaging theoretical and practical Science lessons using a variety of effective teaching strategies.
Plan and conduct laboratory experiments while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Prepare, administer, and mark assignments, quizzes, tests, practical assessments, and examinations.
Monitor, assess, and evaluate students' academic progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievement, and assessment results.
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages scientific inquiry and critical thinking.
Integrate educational technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning.
Participate in departmental meetings, school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development programs.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress and well-being when required.
Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and continuous school improvement.
Comply with all school policies, safeguarding requirements, health and safety regulations, and professional standards.
Required Skills
Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Strong classroom management skills.
Excellent knowledge of scientific concepts and practical laboratory skills.
Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to explain scientific concepts clearly and effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and educational technology platforms.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural environment.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum.
Experience teaching Science at the Primary, Lower Secondary, or IGCSE level.
Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams.
Ability to implement inquiry-based and student-centered learning approaches.
Preferred Certifications
Valid teaching license (where applicable).
Cambridge Professional Development training or certification.
Safeguarding and Child Protection certification.
