OPS Method Engineer

Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced “OPS Method Engineer” to join our dynamic team for the MARSA LNG Bunkering Project, a key initiative within TotalEnergies' energy transition.
The OPS Method Engineer will support and contribute the activities within the Collaborative Room in Muscat (Integrated Operating Center) and act as an active member to support the Plant Activities toward Plant highest performance along with minimizing operational risks.
This role requires close collaboration with multi‑disciplinary teams and will need to establish strong communication ties across multi-disciplinary teams to solve issues. (OPS Marsa LNG, Partners and Contractors)
The OPS Method Engineer will report directly to the Head of Operations Control & Method but in IOC may report to Head of IOC as well (cross function based on Business need)

MARSA LNG Operations relies on a LEAN organization with multi-competencies personnel. This Job Description is not exhaustive and only highlights the key activities, responsibilities, and accountability.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Project phase:
• Define and review operational philosophies, operating strategies, and design intent.
• Develop, review, and validate operating procedures and critical method statements.
• Provide operations input to process design, layout, and control philosophy reviews.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, SIMOPS and operability reviews.
• Support constructability, operability, and maintainability assessments.
• Contribute to project risk management and operational risk mitigation plans.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) during project execution.
• Support commissioning, startup and shutdown planning and execution.
• Lead or support operational readiness assurance and handover activities.
• Capture and integrate lessons learned into operational documentation.
• Collaborate with the PI dashboard development team to design, build and validate unit level and equipment level dashboards to monitor plant performance, operating conditions.

Operation phase:
• Maintain, standardize and continuously improve operational methods and procedures SOPs and digital workflows used by site and IOC.
• Ensure compliance with process safety, HSE, and regulatory requirements and safe operating envelopes.
• Monitor and optimize operational practices, focusing on efficiency, stability, and consistency across shifts and units.
• Support asset integrity, availability, and production assurance by improving operating methods
• Provide operations input to Management of Change (MOC), ensuring procedural and operational impacts are addressed.
• Support incident investigations, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions related to operating methods.
• Contribute to alarm management, control optimization, and digital operations initiatives, including dashboards, checklists, and automated workflows.
• Support operator training, competency development, and knowledge retention, including simulation scenarios and procedure walkthroughs.
• Interface with operations, maintenance, HSE, inspection and IOC teams to ensure alignment of operating practices.
• Drive continuous improvement, standardization and operational excellence initiatives.
• Review and improve startup, shutdown, and transition sequences to ensure safe, efficient and repeatable operations.
• Validate operations related data quality in digital tools (shift logs, checklists, dashboards).
• Lead post event operational reviews (upsets, trips, derates) and translate findings into improved operating methods and procedures.

HSE • Adopt and demonstrate exemplary behavior regarding HSE, implement HSE rules and requirements within the area of responsibility, and ensure that required HSE competencies are within the team.
• Compliant with all HSE roles and regulations as per Oman Law and MARSA JV Management System.
• Risk ALARP driven in recommended solutions and activities setup.
Personnel Development & Competency • Provide support for the recruitment and training of personnel.
• Provide coaching and mentoring of teams in Muscat and site as needed.
Budget & Cost Control · Provide Support for corresponding department Budget.
· Participate in department budget issuance and follow the associated costs.
· Provide Support in yearly Business plan & budget.
General · Ensure Company rules and specifications are implemented throughout the project.
· Implement, Monitor and Optimize “Performance Production” department KPI.
· Ensure Quality response to Site requests.
Technical Specifications · Understand Project Management in Agile environment
· Practice of Digital Tools in different department in the Oil and Gas (Multi Skills)
· Proficient in OPS Methods
· Proficient Commissioning & ORA (Operational Readiness Assurance)
· Proficient in setting Operating Windows

Education requirements  Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent qualifications.
Language requirements  Excellent knowledge of write, read, and speak English (required).
Professional Experience: Experience in Engineering, Process, Operation Methods, commissioning and Operation of LNG field. Execution and Development within a LNG or Oil and Gas context
Experience in similar position (years): +10 years’ experience mixed between Engineering, Commissioning and Operation/Method. Experience in LNG and Site Support required.
