Job Description
PYP Homeroom Teacher - Finland Oman School
Reports To: PYP Coordinator / School Principal
Job Summary:
The PYP Homeroom Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning aligned with the IB PYP framework and the school’s educational philosophy. The teacher creates a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports students’ academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons aligned with the IB PYP curriculum.
• Foster inquiry-based and student-centered learning.
• Differentiate instruction to support all learners, including students with special educational needs and learning difficulties.
• Collaborate with the SEN Department and support staff when required.
• Assess, monitor, record, and report student progress.
• Maintain positive classroom management and student behavior.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Participate in meetings, professional development, workshops, school events, and extracurricular activities.
• Attend assigned school duties, including break, arrival, dismissal, and event duties.
• Maintain accurate records and follow school policies, safeguarding procedures, and Ministry requirements.
• Support the school community and perform additional duties assigned by leadership when required.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years teaching experience preferred.
• IB PYP or international school experience is an advantage.
• Strong English communication skills.

Working Conditions:
• Full-time position based on the academic calendar, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
• Flexible in attending and working after school hours and during weekends when required for school events, workshops, meetings, training sessions, and other school-related activities.
