Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience in developing programmes, systems, SOPs, and clinical services from the ground up, while positioning themselves among the early pioneers of addiction treatment in Oman.Role DescriptionThe Psychiatrist will assist and take guidance from the Consultant Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for individuals experiencing addiction-related and co-occurring mental health conditions. Daily responsibilities include conducting patient evaluations, developing and adjusting treatment plans together with the consultant psychiatrist, prescribing and monitoring medications, and delivering individual and group psychiatric care in coordination with multidisciplinary team members.The role also involves collaborating closely with the consultant psychiatrist, psychologists, counselors, nurses, and social workers to ensure integrated, patient-centered care, while maintaining accurate clinical documentation and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Salwa Healthcare in Sohar, requiring active participation in clinical meetings, case reviews, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.Qualifications2-3 years foundation in Medicine and Psychiatry, with the ability to manage cases involving addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions.Demonstrates basic knowledge in Psychiatric Care and Mental Health, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management.Valid medical degree (MBBS or MD or equivalent) and qualification in Psychiatry; eligibility for licensure or registration in Oman as required.Experience working in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings is highly beneficial.Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and non-discriminatory care.Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.Proficiency in English and Arabic language skills are a MUST.Computer proficiency is a MUST and efficiency in software such as MS OfficeInterested candidates, pls apply via info@salwacare.com.
