Aquaculture Technician

Job description

As a Nursery Technician, you will play an important part in the daily hatchery operations. Your role ensures the healthy growth of fish larvae and juveniles and contributes directly to the success of the farm. You will follow established routines while also learning new methods that improve the hatchery’s performance.

Monitor and record daily water quality parameters in tanks.
Feed larvae and juvenile fish, while carefully tracking their growth.
Maintain tanks and equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Assist in spawning, incubation, and hatching processes.
Follow strict biosecurity and safety standards at all times.
Required Skills and Knowledge This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and has a strong interest in fish farming. Training will be provided, but a background in aquaculture is an advantage.

Ability to monitor and document hatchery conditions accurately.
Careful handling of fish to maintain their health and well-being.
Reliability and ability to work shifts, including weekends if needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications
Bachlor in aquaculture or marine sciences .
Minimum Experience:

2-3 years of experience in working with aquaculture fish farming .
