Position Title: EAF-Melter- Operation- Steel Melting Shop Industry:Steel/Heavy Industry Location : Oman Educational Qualification: B.Sc/B. Tech/Diploma-Metallurgy/Mechanical/ (Full Time Regular) Experience- Post Experience 7+ Years Job Purpose To operate and control the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) melting process, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality liquid steel while achieving production, quality, and productivity targets.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) to achieve daily production targets.Monitor and control the complete melting cycle including charging, melting, refining, slag practice, and tapping.Ensure optimum power consumption, electrode consumption, oxygen, carbon, lime, and alloy additions.Maintain the desired steel chemistry and tapping temperature as per production requirements.Coordinate with Scrap Yard,RMHS, LRF, CCM, and Fume Treatment Plant (FTP) for smooth plant operations.Monitor furnace parameters through HMI/SCADA and take corrective actions during process deviations.Optimize furnace productivity by reducing Power-On Time (PON), Tap-to-Tap Time (TTT), and energy consumption.Ensure proper slag formation for efficient refining and phosphorus removal.Minimize electrode breakage, refractory wear, and process losses.Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation teams during breakdowns and shutdowns.Prepare shift reports and record production, process, and quality data.Train and guide furnace operators and shift personnel.
