About the Opportunity:
We are excited to announce a new luxury Nikki Beach Resort & Spa project in Yiti Bay, Sultanate of Oman, and we are looking for a seasoned Director of Maintenance & Conservation to join our pre-opening leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a landmark development from the ground up, shaping the engineering and facilities function from pre-opening through to full operations.
The ideal candidate is a hospitality engineering leader with a strong technical background, excellent organizational skills, and proven experience in pre-opening resort or hotel projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead all engineering, maintenance, and technical operations during the pre-opening phase and beyond.
Work closely with the construction, design, and project teams to ensure engineering standards and systems are aligned with brand and safety requirements.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and engineering policies for all areas of the resort (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water treatment, fire safety systems, etc.).
Hire, train, and manage the engineering team to ensure smooth operations from day one.
Oversee energy management, sustainability efforts, and regulatory compliance.
Manage budgets, equipment procurement, and contractor/vendor relationships.
Support risk management initiatives, emergency preparedness, and workplace safety.

Qualifications:

Minimum 8–10 years of experience in engineering or technical services within the hospitality industry.
At least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably as Director of Engineering or Chief Engineer.
Pre-opening experience in resorts or hotels is highly preferred.
Prior work experience in Oman is an advantage
Strong knowledge of building systems, mechanical/electrical infrastructure, and health & safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Proven ability to lead diverse teams and work collaboratively with various departments.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Degree or diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
